Anonymous, 15 Feb 2017No bootloop in G5. Also sealing the battery, actually kills the battery capacity of a phone as... moreYou getting waterproof, better display (more resolutions). Not everyone who brought a g3, g4 or g5 had an extra battery granted some did not all.

People wanted metal premium phones thats what all the companies are doing now Apple been doing it since the beginning, LG are the last ones to get on it. I give props for LG for waiting this long and having removeable batteries though.

Maybe samsung or LG should have 2 models (1 waterproofed model and 1 non waterproofed) so the non waterproofed model can have removeable battery for those who prefer it.

They're saying this as if it was very exciting. Major Android players were already able to provide phones with about 3500 mAh batteries whilst some of the others prooved the possibility of 4000 and more.

G2 had 3000mah. The premium smartphone should have moved to 5000mah by now.

yay....high battery capacity. But extra battery offset by 2k screen and powerful processor. So cancels out. :(

Shadow Snypa786, 15 Feb 2017I really hope its 3600 mah or more but then again this is LG we talking about. With a bigger ... moreNo bootloop in G5. Also sealing the battery, actually kills the battery capacity of a phone as you cannot carry a spare anymore and lithium cell aging is non reversible (can't buy a new one). Sealing batteries always lowers the battery capacity of the phone in the long run.

So G5 will kill the battery capacity, use the same ram/SoC combo and be waterproof. Alleluiah... we're moving backwards! No way it will sell better.

With a bigger capacity battery and apparently no more bootloop issues this maybe LGs best G series phone yet.

Who cares. It will be sealed , meaning no capacity to carry spare, meaning no capacity to upgrade it with one of greater capacity, meaning far smaller batter in practice.

Oh and when it's dead ... it's dead, no two ways about it!

Someone Else, 15 Feb 2017If the display is LCD (again) then we should expect less battery life when compared even with ... moreThere is no evidence for those numbers to be valid. Not all revieews are honest. For example look at V20 vs Mate 9 where they claimed you can't change the resolution in V20, and that Mate 9 has better low-light camera performance which are not true at all.

This is far from enough considering the power hungry, previous gen chipset and a bigger, LCD screen. The 821 is essentially an overclocked 820. The Galaxy S7 had a 3000mAh battery with a significantly smaller screen AND it was an amoled. Even the Exynos version had superior battery life. This year's phones are going to have a 10nm chipset based on the more efficient cores. The G6 would need to be miles ahead in battery size to be in any way competitive. Personally, I see the G6 as the last phone of the previous generation rather than a next gen device - the only part matching the competition are the smaller bezels but LG had that in the G2 already and gave up on it for the g4 and g5. Now they merely made a comeback.

Noel, 15 Feb 2017I'm not all that impressed by the size of this battery. Given that LG is rumored to be using l... moreHuawei can't be compared to samsung or lg or htc or sony. Huawei's quality control sucks. It is only good on paper. Xiaomi is better IMO.

Martin, 14 Feb 2017why not have a 4000mAh LG X Power?Exactly, why not make it big,3300 is still tiny for big screen.Disappointed again with LG,not even have a pair of stereo speakers, whereas samsung, iphone have it,still very old stale and stingy on LG,Never thought of having G6 at all.
