ZolaIII, 22 Feb 2017It's 12 GPU unit's clusters. A same as quad CPU represents a cluster. Cluster is core, right? I thought they are both the same thing.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2017Snapdragon 835 is already trumped by apple's A10 if not A9. Why you think something like that?

Here a cheapo Honor 8 with last Gen Kirin SoC
totally destroys IPhone 7 in most therms:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&amp;v=iU0RjeSKz4E

Not only raw CPU Power counts and
sure not only Singlecore Performance counts,
no it has to be the whole platform which has to be in balance.

Karly, 23 Feb 2017Who is manufacturing it?Beijing Pinecone Electronics does.
Like most Fabless semiconductor companies, Beijing Pinecone Electronics only manufacture the SoC design but not the semiconductor itself. Samsung is the only company who manufacture semiconductor itself and design their own SoC.
HiSilicon(kirin) uses semiconductors build by TSMC,
MediaTek uses semiconductors build by TSMC too,
Qualcomm uses semiconductors build by Samsung,
Apple uses semiconductors build both by TSMC and Samsung.

10 times better than MediaTek. Too bad this won't bring any price competition outside India and China...

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC features 8x Qualcomm Kryo 280 CPU cores [https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/835], not 4x Qualcomm Kryo 280 + 4x A53 CPU cores as you write.

So we have a new contender for a flagship SOC, the main specs seems really impressive, as it is a step ahead of the latest kirin chip which is also considered the best currently (considering a10 fusion is in a totally different game), so once next flagship chips arrive we have one more straight up beast to evaluate and to compete.. More competition more innovation... Let's hope Xiaomi will continue making it's fans amazed yet again with their highly jaw dropping pricing,, they sure gonna have a smart mid ranger with a not so much to be praised about SOC for sure considering the pinecone 6xx..

Wow !!! ,Mali g71 mp 12 ?,clock it right with the a73 beast on top of that 10nm process and you've got a SOC in between sd 821 and sd 835 which is awesome, now this catches my heart more so if it doesn't throttle 😍
