Also on the Huawei mate 8, I got the nougat update.
You can use Firmware Finder to see if the update is available to other regions, i'd suggest checking that out.
I have a Huawei Mate 8, till today I'm still on EMUI 4.0 Android 6 & official OTA updater says I'm on latest update. There's no official EMUI 5 release on a flagship phone yet Huawei has the audacity to release 5.1 already. What a bad software support.
PLAYER SLAYER, 22 Feb 2017Sounds fun. Though, admittedly I'm more excited for the LG G6, then Huawei's offerings. I'm es... morePretty disappointed with the mate 8, great hardware, the software is disappointing! C636 is always the last version to get buggy updates then your months waiting for a fix, while the Chinese get a new versions every month..
All android providers have the same problem.. Too busy making 10 different budget phones a year that no one wants, no time to support older phones..
I don't like IOS but Apple has it easy with only having to support 1 to two different phones per year. the fact that they can update all new and old devices at the same time says alot!
Waiting for the next Galaxy come out, but i will probably be disappointed with battery life..
DM00SE, 23 Feb 2017no EMUI 5.0 on my P9 yet, rubbish, ill be getting rid soon. come to papa LG G6 you are mine.Have fun with your bootlooping phone. LOL
There's nothing that worsens a good hardware more than bad software or software that don't get updated regularly once you shell your money and buy the phone!
After lots of research, I found out that lots of users complaining about issues such as notification problems ...etc so I'll skip this brand myself for the time being and look elsewhere!
DM00SE, 23 Feb 2017no EMUI 5.0 on my P9 yet, rubbish, ill be getting rid soon. come to papa LG G6 you are mine.Isn't it possible to visit their website and download and install the latest build yourself?
I have also P9 , mate 8 and they dont support Volte, I planned not to buy huawei again in my life. Bye bye huawei.
Not going back to Huawei. Honor7 was my first and last. Software updates are not too buggy, but no Nougat for a device released in June 2015. Unforgivable from my side.
Also proprietary SOC means slow or non existent development from ROM developers.
no EMUI 5.0 on my P9 yet, rubbish, ill be getting rid soon. come to papa LG G6 you are mine.
Don't buy huawei, they doesn't support old models of their product they totally forget it. Unlike apple & Microsoft which support the updates even in lower end phone
My only complain with Huawei is their software support. Very underwhelming,No monthly security patches. I've got only semi-monthly which is 3-4 months late from release date. 2015 flagship device can no longer updated to Nougat. Even the EMUI will not be updated. Goodluck to P8 and P8 Max owners like me.
Please dont forget to give update on my mediapad m2 10.1
You are busy to produce new models and forget your previous handsets/units.
I believe this 5.1 EMUI will be launched in the P 10 Plus. May be along side with Nougat 7.1 would have been great. Google has already introduced the Nougat 7.1 unto the market last year.
Better if they start roll out the Nougat for their last years excessively exorbitant devices , like my P9 Plus , 700€ still no convenient software support
