And the idiot here is you ... because it is close to the camera button for zoom.
Wow! it's really looking nice.
Finally Sony is giving up on its bezels. Now just do the pricing right along with aggressive ad campaign.
The way I see this trend with taller screens (18:9 ratio): "lets make the screen bigger and keep device dimensions the same!" kind of trick. A selling point. In games this can both be useful and can cause problems (distorted image or black bars on sides). In movies its not useful since it'll be either 16:9 or 21:9 for most movies, there are no 18:9 movies as far as I know. It doesn't help when viewing images - you either get black bars or wider zoomed-in image... and that extra bit is not much. Also, bigger screen seems to consume physical buttons and replace them with on-screen buttons, which may eat all the "extra" screen space... so...
Why do we want longer screens? Or do we want them in the first place? Or is it just a marketing gimmick?
It would be nice and all, but I really hate the volume button placement - they still haven't learned it's stupid. Also, I predict it's gonna be overpriced compared to the specs. Just like every Sony smartphone ever.
People will always trying to find fault with what Sony is doing...I support all brand but the Sony bashing is too high...
