Don't expexte it to be cheaper than £500. based on the price of flagship devices by samsung and HTC this is somewhat of a target

This is not bad, you are probably looking at UK prices for the first time. The iPhone 4 started at about £600 over here. everything is more expensive. you can expect it to cost about $700 in the US

How is that supposed to be ??? If u say its because of the software then too its untrue....No software can make up for raw processing power...
And there's no comparison between N8 and Galaxy S-II.....
Galaxy S-II is better than than N8 in all aspects ranging from screen technology, screen size, processor, RAM, GPU, Video recording, Video playback, Bluetooth 3.0 + HS, MHL, Storage capacity, resolution...............etc ....(except still photos i agree)
Your right about Android 2.3 not supporting SMP....but Google is making 2.4 (ice cream) to natively support multiple cores....But then again u see that all dual core phones announced are 2 times better than existing android flagships in benchmarks.....

Some people are comparing N8/arm11 to android. Well, symbian obviously requires much less processing power, but don't forget that A9 chip is more than twice powerful than arm11 per clock per core. So Arm11@680 is comparable to Cortex A9 single core @~330mhz.

Nokia is lagging behind both in hardware and software, thats the truth and thats why people in there droves are leaving this crappy phone manufacturer.

Now you are right about Nokia.The N8 has the best camera today and you can't argue about that.This is the flagship of all camera phones.And it's also true about the cpu.But,it's all about Symbian.The 680Mhz cpu is good for Symbian because it's not a heavy platform like Android or other UI.I once tried to overload my E63 but I never managed :)
But you can't denied that Nokia is lagging in the smartphone race...The hardware isn't today standards (1Ghz) and the UI can be a little bit clumsy.Overall the 680Mhz can't take on 1Ghz and that's Nokia problems
