Not built to last, even rear cameras drop off from their phones (M4 Disas.. Aqua, I mean), false waterproofing advertisement (many models) and all that quality-stuff you'd expect from any Sony-phone. They should stick to making consoles and TV's, that's what they are actually good at.
Tann Hauser, 27 Feb 2017Aint defending nothing. You like that extra small bezels. Go for it. Just remeber what I said... moreGlass breaks when it falls no matter how much bezel it has. I never felt need of the other hand while using s6e. Yes my s6e did got dropped few times and not even a single scratch, that too without any screen protection. A proper case is enough. I never dropped my phone while playing games. Even the flat S6/7 will survive few drops easily. If impact is strong enough even Sony's glass with all those bezels break too. Had Sony used that bottom bezel for soft keys or fp scanner then that bezel is justified. At least they could have halved the size of those bezels.
Pure class, Sony Xperia is the Lexus of the smartphones.
Looks are subjective, but I see a timelessly refined looking device. And Sony phones age the best, the Z3 still feels and functions modern.
The apples and samsungs of its time are junkyard scrap.
those bezel pack stuffs thats for sure, if sony sacrifice bezel for design(note 7 crappy design fire happens). upcoming s8 dont have anything new tech so s8 has alot of empty space
LG flagship no sd834
s8 same specs. sd835,4gb ram, not to mention exynos version weak gpu.
XZ Premium sony wins this year.
"Xperia X Performance (SD 820 micro USB no 4k recording 3gb of RAM 32/64 GB of storage 5in fullhd screen 23 MP camera)> Xperia XZ (4k recording SD 820 USB type-C 3gb of RAM 5.2in screen fullhd 23 MP camera)>XZs (SD 820 USB type-C 4gb of RAM 32gb of storage 4k recording 5.2in fullhd screen 19 MP camera)" instead of releasing incremental upgrade they could have did of this last year Sony you fk up
"The selfie cam on both the Xperia XZs and the XZ Ultra is borrowed from the XZ"
Talk about being carried away with a phone/phones

You like that extra small bezels. Go for it. Just remeber what I said here when you realize you need an extra hand to operate the thing. And when you drop your phone accidently while playing a game.
Tann Hauser, 27 Feb 2017On that there, you have a point.
But it would take an extra engineer and software effort for ... moreIt's all about deal. T-Mobile US carrier use to offer Sony phones ( end at Z3).
And I'm a xperia Z3 user, I thought I could get a Z5 but T-Mobile stop doing business with Sony. And the funny and stupid thing about Sony is the Z5 got fingerprint ( disabled is the US/NA market), and then there's X, X performance, XZ etc. Fingerprint scanner present, but all being disabled by default! And that's why I question why not go for Iris eyes scanner.
While Sony keep on marketing their camera ( like it is the one and only thing that they can offer! )
Xperia phones got many short coming ( I'm a xperia Z3 user).
For one, as a water and dust resistance phone, wireless charging never seems to come to Sony's mind ( why? )
And even worse is that ever since Z5 they've took out one of the charging option from the phone ( I no longer can use my USB port for charging my Z3 now, but thanks to the other port, I can still charge my phone).
Second, why fingerprint if it never work in some market ( like the US or maybe the whole NA. It is always disabled by default) So, why not choose Iris eyes scanner?
The biggest problem of xperia phones are their builds! My xperia Z3's front and back panel popped out of the frame already ( I'm now using glues and the case to hold them together!) G
seriously SONY... do they think their consumers are dumb or some?
since X performance > XZ > XZs all SD 820... RAM 4GB? thats cool if it was 2016
seriously I can not believe their mobile division is still operating
Just shut it down already cause you will never make money here
Tann Hauser, 27 Feb 2017Nonsense. Those slim bezel phones coming out are unusable with one hand. And be prepared for... moreLOL. It will be easier to use a phone with single hand, when it got smaller bezels. That arthritis you mentioned never happens. For the sake of justifying big bezels of your Sony, you may have created this Thumb Arthritis thing. My thumb never complained while i used S6E(smaller bezels) and iPhone 6s(bigger bezels). I can reach top of S6E's screen with one hand easier than iPhone 6s. So there won't be any problem with bezel less phones.
HDR on a phone display is a very good move forward. When I watched for some TVs in a market, the Samsung KS7090 TV with HDR (and a color gamut which is good enough to display HDR) had a very impressive picture. If those gimmicks like edge displays and rounded corners are out of the way and when those trends are over, I see a pretty bright future for TVs and phone displays, because also OLED will become cheaper and more popular, and the chase for higher resolution which doesn't have many advantages is pretty much over.
FromChinaWithLove, 27 Feb 2017There's nothing to use to begin with! Fingerprint scanner don't work on the US (NA) version. I... moreOn that there, you have a point.
But it would take an extra engineer and software effort for a market dominated by samsung and apple. Guess they dont find that effort plausible enough.
