ALGERIAN, 01 Mar 2017more ways to drain the money from people dont u remomber tita z $2999 usd for mearly 8 tera fl... moreThis is the sad part about technology as it progresses it becomes cheaper and more powerful.. But its a matter of learning how to be contented on what you have.. The beauty of a pc set up is that it allows you to do anything you want and I will purchase this 1080Ti from my current amd 390X and I will learn to be contented with it for a long time. For as long it serves my purpose
This is a very good GPu since it has the processing power of the Titan for a much cheaper price !!! This is my upgrade card
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2017not even the new price makes the 1080 the same price or close to the 10701070 used to cost $500 in my country, now 1080 is supposed to cost $500. And it probably will, in a year or so :D
Im sick of this shit... and i believe that a lot of people are sick of this bullshit as well. Even if i had 2000 $ to spend of awesome pc i will never do that... price-performance ratio for this kind of tech is always bad. And never consumer-friendly.
viveksubhash, 02 Mar 2017so in the end its all about 4k/ VR gaming right?? i read on anandtech that nvidia itself sugge... moreYeah thats good but there is an optional choice too , save alot of money and go with "ps4 pro" you may not get that high level of details that you'll get on PC but it wont break the bank , if you insist on PC though , yup the gtx1070 (over clocked editions) is the way to go ;)
Yey the prices are droping so I will finaly be able to buy a used gtx 670 ( which is cheaper than a new gtx 1050 ) :)
AnonD-463498, 01 Mar 2017Xbox Scorpio will crush thisRight... Like Xbox one ever crushed anything. It's GPU, from 2013, is at the same level as GTX465, from 2010. So if anything, Xbox Scorpio will be like GTX760 or GTX770.
AnonD-632749, 01 Mar 2017I think he is taking about new vega gpu coming from amd. It will definitely match the highend ... moreOnly if
A) AMD doesn't screw up with timing, after all, Nvidia's refresh is coming this summer, and new architecture is coming this autumn.
B) AMD does truly have a faster architecture. Unlike Intel, Nvidia hasn't been twiddling it's thumbs, and their current GPUs are on the order of magnuture faster than 2 gen back.
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2017not even the new price makes the 1080 the same price or close to the 1070It does in my country! I recently reviewed prices on hardware and found out 1080 costs around $800 in my country. Not recommended 600 or anywhere close. Hopefully 1080 ti will drive the prices down so I can afford 1080. Or maybe 1070 will also have its price drop and become a more reasonable choice - I'm still playing in 1080p but using 144hz monitor, so I do notice when games run faster than 60 fps.
JASONthenutofARGO, 01 Mar 2017That Depends Dude if You are a casual gamer (means you do games occasionally and go for a dec... moreso in the end its all about 4k/ VR gaming right?? i read on anandtech that nvidia itself suggests the use of gtx950 for most of its games running at fullhd...hmm gonna take your advise and save up for a month or 2 and get the 1070
Dota gamer, 02 Mar 2017Which GPU is better for palying DOTA 2? =)1080p? A GTX 1050Ti, RX 470 will do it at max settings probably, if your a little fearful then an RX 480 or a 1060 will secure that, but it is highly unlikely they would be needed over the first two. At 1440p, an RX 480\GTX 1060 for ultra settings and a 1070 or an R9 Fury would make sure it reaches level of performance over 100fps easily, but even then the 1060 or RX 480 would do really well and possibly higher than 70-80fps. At 4K, definetly a 1070 or an R9 Fury X minimum for Ultra settings and i dont think the 1080 or R9 395X2 would be needed at all, for 60fps+ gameplay at a constant rate.
AnonD-85193, 02 Mar 2017This is a stop gap, personally i would wait for Volta at the end of the year or depending how ... moreWell, I'm going to upgrade my monitor first, from Dell U3415W to something similar, but with G-Sync. The monitor alone will cost near 1000 euros, so I have some money saving to do. :)
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2017My current GTX1070 surely is too slow for 3440x1440. My next card will be the 1080 Ti, or what... moreThis is a stop gap, personally i would wait for Volta at the end of the year or depending how Vega is priced maybe that also depends on how well that performs.
AnonD-463498, 01 Mar 2017Xbox Scorpio will crush thisYeah, because Xbox Scorpio got the best pixel, probably also got upscaled 4k and 24fps for super immersive Cinematic Experience™ lololol.
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2017so it is faster than the titan X which is more expensive than 1080Ti. then who would by titan... moreTitan XP was released before the new 1080 Ti, so if you had the money and wanted the fastest card - it was possible to get it. 1080 Ti is the more reasonable purchase, but it wasn't available when Titan XP became available. This is how it has always been, first the fast Titan with high price, then later the faster/as fast flagship GTX.
An amazing GPU it is! Faster than a Titan XP, with only less ROPs and a less 1GB of VRAM, which wouldnt be very useful at this point anyways. Definetly a killer value for performance here, but people should always get aftermarket coolers and not the founders edition ones.
