IMO Nokia over the years have failed to distinguish between fan boy feedback and positive genuine feedback from concerned users so round about the fourth minute he talks about positive feedback am thinking hmmmm are they sure this feedback is the real deal or is it just the die hard Nokia fans who even when problems are as clear as night and day they still fail to see em.
Kooma, 28 Feb 2011Keep dreaming, n900 the best phone ever if you can use it!"Good" phones do not need users that have a PhD in computer science to be able to use it! :)
mxx, 28 Feb 2011nokia why dont you go with android???nah. They got Qt. But thanks to elop...
Well i agree with Adrian on this but to comment further. I am n900 owner and believe this is the best handset on the market today. that said, it was under marketed, support is/was wayward and apps do not compare to other nokia/android/ios devices. so if nokia decides to build a device for developers only, how do they believe they will keep their solid consumer base knowing end users like me was looking forward to the unbeaten n900's successor?
More importantly, if this n950 is the ONLY meego device, does it even make sense getting it because there will be no replacement afterwards, nothing to succeed where this impending device will have shortcomings.
From Elop's entrance, to wp7 to the demise of maemo and the disrespectful way the n900 support has been treated, a once die hard nokia supporter is for the first time ever considering switching to an Android device. What is more disgusting about all this, is Nokia doesn't even seem to care what we consumers think - There's no apology, no explaination for the lack of support and apps for the black sheep n900 - nothing. that's what you die hard nokia lovers should realise going forward. i will not be getting a nokia device with wp7 on it. service packs here you come!
"Nokia" and the word "Committed" shouldnt be used together infact nokia should be banned from ever using the word or statment towards any of there products..
I got mugged into all there big talk bout n900 and maemo 5 and how they was committed to them both to only find within months they was bored with them both and left everyone with a device unfinished... total disgrace.
NOKIA SHOULD PAY COMPENSATION TO EVERYONE THEY TRICKED INTO BUYING THERE USELESS N900.. i will never trust nokia proucts again
CC, 28 Feb 2011I fully agree. I paid big bucks for my N900 and I'm stuck with it. It's a crap phone.Keep dreaming, n900 the best phone ever if you can use it!
Read this news from other site 2 days ago. GSMArena should be quick in posting news and this site needs a mobile version.
CC, 28 Feb 2011I fully agree. I paid big bucks for my N900 and I'm stuck with it. It's a crap phone. And why is a crap? I know is frustrating to buy a device and Nokia to leave it in the wild, but have you seen what the maemo community did until now and what are they planning next?
N900 can do what no other phone can even after 1,5 years because of maemo and its enthusiasts. It is not for everyone as you could also read in almost any review.
As for N950, I will buy it in a minute and I am sure that I will enjoy it at least 2 years instead of Android.
It's ironic that nokia will not use QT on their newfangled WP7 phones, now that QT is ported to android.
Old news...the other sites and blogs had this news way before gsmarena. Its dissapointing how Meego got left in the dirt. It may be impressive with regards to specs....but we will not get the same support as promised. I rather switch to another brand.
Adrian 68, 28 Feb 2011Targeted towards devs??? I cannot see any of the major networks (here in the UK) picking this ... moreI fully agree. I paid big bucks for my N900 and I'm stuck with it. It's a crap phone.
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2011that means the windows phone of nokia will have to wait till next year. Surely they will release this year maybe Q4, or else they will loose more customers.
Don't worry I will not be one of them. though they will dump symbian which I love, I think I can try WP7 on Nokia.
Targeted towards devs??? I cannot see any of the major networks (here in the UK) picking this up when it's finally released, looks like it will be getting the same poor support that the N900 got. Which was the last straw for me and I ended up switching to a different make of handset. Nokia why bother spend at that money on R&D then given token efforts into supporting it......
that means the windows phone of nokia will have to wait till next year.
