Memory management is the most important.
JimbobOfJonestown, 06 Mar 2017I would contend that's not good. People are only fine with 1080P because it's all they can get... moreBattery are not big at all. Its the biggest problem with smartphones.
They cant even last one full day of heavy use.
I class a big battery once it goes over 3600mah.
Cant say he wrong or right, he has the point.
4-6 is enough (for different purpose), 2? Big NO for android. But optimizing is something that we need now, like sony, xiaomi, OP, and huawei do, their phone have better optimizing in android Nougat compare with other. So better get optimizing then pay huge amount for 8 gig RAM! Again: 4-6 is enough (for different purpose), 2? Big NO for android.
Fitbri, 06 Mar 2017I agree, usually above 4 is general unnecessary. Not so long back 2 ram was plenty. We are run... moreIt's not. Android manages ram differently than Windows. The more ram you have the smoother your phone becomes even if you think that you didn't explicitely used that ram.
2GB was "enough", heck 1GB was "enough". The point is not what is "enough", the point is what can make android as smooth as an iphone. Now iphone is smooth because it cuts corners by killing the backgrounding function that all modern OSes should have, so that's a bad solution.
The best solution is what some chinese makers do. Keep backgrounding, but kill the apps that eat too much memory/battery from the background. That way you get best of both worlds by adding as much RAM as possible.
An 6GB phone is almost as fast an iphone (check phonebuff vids), an 8 Gigs phones will surpass iphone *all the while* keeping the backgrounding. That's the best of both worlds. Never Settle!
Huawei Boss tries to cut corners so that his phone's manufacturing will cost less, don't support him unless you have Huawei shares, else he's wrong!
Anonymous, 06 Mar 2017It's not lack of optimization. It's actually part of Android's optimization. The more RAM you ... moreSo if RAM is resource....why is than used so poorly?
What happens with the apps? How can simple game be as large as 1GB or more?
I fondly remember playing "Painkiller" on my PC in 2003,and that game comes in only 1 CD?!?With graphic and maps and everything much better (and larger) than anything on smartphone.Whats the problem with coding in Java?
It's never enough ram if the oem is lazy and only cares about specs without optimizing software. How else would the galaxy S7/note7 lose in speed to every android oems with identical specs? The answer is optimization and goes to show how certain oems care about users by making sure everything works well, while others just slap everything together and sell as much as possible for their bottom line.
Anonymous, 06 Mar 2017Have you ever heard of RAM caching? Yeah, you had your percentages wrong. Whether people kn... morebut it is stupid to have all of your aps open at same time... if are only focus on 1 or 2 I mean it makes no sense ... maybe while using you could use up to 3 lets say e-mail/ music player / and web ... so then when you are done you close them well at least that's what I do not to go to bed and have then open ..
Huawei COO, u may learn a thing or two from OnePlus.
decent specs with the right price tag. your P9 and P9 Plus were not cheap at all, and your upcoming P10 is way overpriced.
robinsd69, 06 Mar 2017Yeah!!! I know the type.... on todays technology, with the use of todays application on a pho... morewell it depends of the usage ... 1gb of ram wil be good for everything even games but moderate graphics on 720p devices or below .. with a decent quad core device ... other than that if u pair 1 gb of ram on a 1080p device it will struggle why because more pixels means more effort on the processor , same as more ran while running heavier apps and more ran usage on games too , ... I love technology I have a QUAD HD careen in my pocket 5.5 inches display excellent for multimedia , 3gb of ram .. necessary for run the device smooth, hexa core processor ... 32 gb space and 32 gb sd card it is an all rounded 64 gb phone... enough for me and paired with a 16 mpx camera I love to take good pics ... now why would I want a dumb 2g only call phone ... I cant take a photo if I need to share memories to some one.. or record a lovely moment along with some one ... if I want to talk to some one and watch that person like if it was close to you ... listen to music while im traveling .. watching a movie when there is nothing else to do and you cant sleep ... or even yes why not call some one and put not an avatar but your moms , daughter wife/ girlfriend pic on your home screen .... .. I don't get your point ... .. about REAL GIRL .. I have a wife and a daughter and I have a nice phone ... that u don't like technology and you live under a rock with old tech is fine .. but for you
robinsd69, 06 Mar 2017Yeah!!! I know the type.... on todays technology, with the use of todays application on a pho... moreYou must be fun at parties with your generalizing attitude that others should have simpleton usage of their phones.
AnonD-594761, 07 Mar 2017Yet all android lags and samslow is way behind IPHONE when it cones to speed Tombstoning background apps make iphones fast.
Guys, I think it's about time we directed these RAM complaints to the APP DEVELOPERS who have been being given free passes all these years because of this RAM race.
It's about time app developers stop slacking off and actually work.
Leica branding is also too much, and also 2 cameras are too much Huawei. 40000 Rs also too much.
