se you SUCKKKK, 03 Mar 2011ok se is all yours go for it but you going to regret it sooner rather than later se just abdon... moreall i am going to say is that you will miss out. 2.3 out of the box, with 2.4 rumoured. There is no way they will delay their updates on the new phones.

ok se is all yours go for it but you going to regret it sooner rather than later se just abdonded x10 users they could simply release update how can one man in xda could be abe to release froyo while se shouldnt more than 10 million xperia family users surely turn they back on se and that is more than enough to make them pay .

Yeah, SE made a mistake last time but it doesn't mean that they will do it again.
They r the only one who have publicaly accepted their mistakes with updates. So, this time they r the most committed in providing updates.

No other company did so much. Most of other companies left their 1st android phone on either 1.5 or 1.6. X10 is in far better position as compared to them.
People keep complaining that even samsung is providing 2.2 & 2.3 for galaxy s but keep in mind that only a extremely small % of galaxy s owners have got the update to 2.2 & that also makes the phone so much laggy that remaining on 2.1 would be far better than updating to 2.2
At least SE is not comprising with quality. Their 2.1 update was extremely nice which made all their Xperias run faster than before not laggy as hell like samsung.

thats really a great excuse for SE to get rid of the responsibility of giving updates to xperia family ,and as far as lg or samsung is concerned,samsung has a galaxy 3 phone in the same price range as of xperia x8 and samsung has not said that they wont give update beyond 2.1 for galaxy 3(which is of same configuration of xperia x8),samsung is taking the responsibility to give updates to all the customers who invested their money on mid range android phone,and as far as LG is concerned ,they also got the optimus one which is in the same price range that of xperia x8 and optimus one is already on 2.2 froyo and still LG is not saying that they wont give and update for optimus one,instead they are saying that they will upgrade optimus one to 2.3,BOTH LG AND SAMSUNG are doing justice with their customers and are taking the responsibility of giving the customers what they deserve,they are not making any excuse like sony ,its only sony ericsson who is running away from their responsibility of giving updates to their loyal customers

Ericsson, and then Sony Ericsson were masters of packing tons of features into phone, a lot of the time ahead of everyone else. When smartphones became all the rage, they chose to partner with Symbian and had success outside the USA, took a swing with Windows Mobile, (which IMHO did quite alot with it, but ultimately failed do to price point and Windows Mobile inherently sucking anyway), and after massively restructuring, had to play catch-up in the Android race which a much smaller workforce. Ya, previous Xperia models were flawed, but thanks to you folks that did buy them, SE has proven their viability in this new market and were able to create this new line. Starting off with Gingerbread and optimized Snapdragons isn't a bad way to kick off the year, and now that they know how the game works, they will be ontop of it. Loyalist such as yours truly my now get sucked back into our fandom and stop using our w760is lol

its ok , 02 Mar 2011I can understand your frustration but with mediascape and timescape modified on the new handse... moreupdates will be quicker for the new handsets like xperia arc,xperia play etc,but what about the old handsets,aren't the sony ericsson software team gonna do something for all those customers who spent their money on xperia x8 and xperia x10,look i am a big fan of sony in terms of quality of music but this time when i buyed sony android mobile ,i felt that my hard earned money has gone waste,i always loved sony for its products,but this time i was screwed big time by not having the updates,and atleast millions of people have felt the same way as i am feeling everyday whenever i see my sony xperia phone

Instead of SE having to recode the 2 interfaces which is in the previous handsets so i think they will be ok.

yup,they are concentrating on xperia play ,xperia arc and all other future phones but what about those people who sony ericsson has misleaded ,what about the xperia x8 AND xperia x10 owners ,who made a mistake of buying the phone,let me tell you all folks who are planning to buy this xperia play,xperia arc or any sony ericsson android phone,do not buy sony ericsson phones if you want to have a great android experience ,there update service is very poor and if you buy any xperia play or any sony ericsson android phone,you are like to suffer the same fate as the x8 and x10 users are suffering,no updates ,nothing you will be stuck on an outdated android os for a very long time,i repeat do not trust sony for android phones
