Anonymous, 08 Mar 2017samsung and huawei are just babdwagons, apple followers. LG and Sony IMO wont remove jack next yearYeah sure, thats why Huawei still have the headphone jack on their latest flagship (Huawei P10) and Samsung also has it on their S8 according to leaks....
mir, 07 Mar 2017Let's not forget that Motorola did remove it first.Yeah true, but companies are only removing it because of Apple.

Removing the jack doesn't make any sense other than just moneymilking.
Don't do this.
Nope, I'm out then! Pixel is too expensive to have compromises like this. Back to Oneplus it is
if anyone can handle the price of this phone, is the one you should buy, dont go to samsung, iphone, sony, xiaomi..... etc.... is all about give and take, google is a company that gives not only taking.... dont forget about youtube, wikipedia, android, google, drive, adsense..... google give the opportunity to give you something not only profiting by your pocked.....
So if you are a little realistic and fair and you could handle the price you should buy from google, there are so many people in this world working at their home just by google.
Guess I'm not buying the next Pixel this year.
At last! I hated that jack all my life. I hope they really ditch the headphone jack once and for all
Google you are a leader in the past couple of years please don't turn this around with stupid move. Don't forget this android users have many options.
I don't believe this, I need clear evidence, not just rumour,it will be unwise to ditch it just to copy Apple... Apple has wireless headphones(Beats) which cost as much as a midrange Android phone, Google doesn't
Google copy apple lol
Please leave that 3.5mm jack alone. Instead of ditching that legendary port, shave off those vertical bezels.

And nobody's stopping you for using your audiophile headsets if you want to. There are adapters. They even include USB-C to audio with the Moto Z. Maybe you should stop whining and grow up. We have all the technologies for wireless charging and wireless audio, but grandpas like you prefer tangling yourself with your cables. Good thing is technology will move forward whether you like it or not.
Someone Else, 08 Mar 2017"most feature phones in the past don't have headphone jack."
Ummm.. does most feature phone... moreIs music the only use for headphones? Don't think so. People has been using headsets for handsfree use for ages, and these were using proprietary jacks on feature phones. Nobody was complaining back then.
And yes, actually many feature phones prior to smartphones can play music if you actually know how to use one. And people did use them.
Just get other smartphones with 3.5mm headphone .jack.
Google must be crazy. This is killing the audio industry.
Zenodroid, 07 Mar 2017Pixel isn't worth anything anyway. Nokia will come with clean Android and newest updates, so j... moreNokia does not exist. HMD global is like 10 nokia engineers ... you live in a fantasy world. Nokia was Slain by a to Jan horse employed by Microsoft.
good now that sony, htc, oneplus, samsung keeps their 3.5mm jack, people will have to struggle less in making choice of which phones to buy, phones will the features they want or phones with the features they dont want
AnonD-428442, 08 Mar 2017Bluetooth is more than ready. Plenty of cheap bluetooth headsets and speakers. And people won... morethe only thing I want to say is - "Audio Quality?"
If that is really the case, then Google will have lesser sales than even their Pixels, which isn't that great. There are lots of earphones made by different brands that have stellar audio quality to chose from. The BT headsets still no where close to the basic ones in sound quality then why there is a need to remove the jack?
ithehappy, 07 Mar 2017I will come back with Pixel 3 then, when they will upgrade it from Pixel 2 by re-adding the 3.... more*be. I just wish Apple didn't start the trend because now it's inevitable that others will gradually follow suit.
