Anonymous, 10 Mar 2017This how Shamsung is hyping their "UGLIEST" phone of 2017.The ugliest? Nope, it will be the most beautiful phone. Better than the big bezels like iPhone, Pixel, HTC U, Huawei and Xperia. Even the LG G6.
These are intentional leaks....just for hype... If there were no leaks these phones would not get any attention
kerginaldo, 09 Mar 2017If the S8 came with removable battery would be my dream come true.Keep dreaming!
Savor , 09 Mar 2017Well said. Some people aren't aware that some users want to use their smartphone until it no l... moreYou are right, I only buy cheap and good non-removable battery smartphones like xiaomi phones, not flagship phones. For flagship smartphones, I would buy one with removable battery so to last its price worth.
Both models are said to be long and slim. The question is "will the S8+ have a screen of 18:9"?
JJ, 09 Mar 2017Please Samsung, stop copying Apple features! Please Apple, stop copying ALL other manufacture feature !!!
You do realize Apple always copying, changing it a bit, and release anything that apple copy, as a "new" feature, don't you?
Or did Apple pays you a cent to actually wrote this? LOL
AzureLord, 09 Mar 2017Today a galaxy s7/edge is considered a midrange because it doesn't have the most powerful hard... moreReally, tell me which phone in the market has exynos 9 or snapdragon 835? I wouldn't say having a snapdragon 820 a mid-ranger when the latest and greatest is still 821.
Bunyip22, 09 Mar 2017+1 only just saw your post.Specs page is so obviously wrong if this is the final design. If it's a 18.5:9 display the height has to be at least double the width to fit that display. And you have to add for the top and bottom bezels.
HL2017, 09 Mar 2017This is your opinion.
The fact is that, many people still love removable battery; Speciall... moreWell said. Some people aren't aware that some users want to use their smartphone until it no longer turns on. But what keeps those lights on? Battery. The one component destined to die quicker than any other parr. A sealed battery would swell. Ruin that metal unibody design. We are under the mercy of the sealed battery's life expectancy and greedy companies' planned obsolescence.
I wouldn't want to upgrade in another 2-3 years when the phone works perfectly fine except the degraded, sealed battery and I need to redo everything on the newer phone and more time to transfer content. Sometimes newer isn't always better and an oldie can still be a goodie. I want the option to give it another few years of life like giving it a triple bypass for a new heart.
Removable battery will keep it running for life. This is why after seeing the G6 lack removable battery, we are now in the dark times ruled by fashion over function. People care more about build quality and design over performance and future proofing features. We moved backwards with excuses like we didn't use it that much or won't miss it.
The only phone I am mildly interested in is surprisingly the new 3310. It is cheap and it has removable battery, microSD slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, and isn't made with a fragile glass rear. It just does its job as a PHONE and not trying to be pretentious like the users who buy pretty, $700+ throwaways.
sssssssss, 09 Mar 2017Exactly !!! Indeed is what i want to say: S7 and S8 camera will have the same stupid 4:3 aspec... moreWell 16:9 will change soon... Eceything does.. it will likely be 18:9 or 18.5:9 for wider view...
JJ, 09 Mar 2017Please Samsung, stop copying Apple features!Copy? what?
kevin97, 09 Mar 2017You realize the screens are curved and you can't do these calculations to find out the real wi... moreI assume you are talking about the curved sides not the curved corners?
The diagonal 6.2" is from corner to corner (ignoring curved corners) and the curved edges would only make a tiny difference to my numbers.
Either way, if it is an 18.5x9 screen ratio the rumored 152.4 x 78.5 s8+ dimensions GSMarena won't be correct.
Measuring up the leaked S8+ pics in CAD (which aren't square so its not real accurate) it is more like 155mm x 73mm. This is about in line with the Note 7 which makes more sense.
Bunyip22, 09 Mar 2017Just checked your claim in AutoCAD and your right. A 18.5x9 6.2" screen is 141.6x68.9mm ... moreYou realize the screens are curved and you can't do these calculations to find out the real width of the phone, right ?
Bunyip22, 09 Mar 2017Just checked your claim in AutoCAD and your right. A 18.5x9 6.2" screen is 141.6x68.9mm ... moreThe big one rumored to be 74mm wide. 159mm tall. Gsm arena specs page is wrong. When you put the curves into account I think it makes sense.
