This is a device that someone like me needs ... Just a phone ... Not a device with a crapy camera, a lousy player, with a screen you can´t see anything outside and, eventually, make a phone call, when the battery allows, for which you pay too much ... It´s just a cheap phone with a battery that stands up a lot ...

This is really a bad way Nokia is going. The markets has changed. Now everyone has more look at spec sheet rather than the quality of hardware. One who has a good knowledge about phones will not buy it as he needs atleast browsing capability in his phone. Those who don't know much about phones will look for a camera, thus atleast VGA would have made a difference. So I don't expect this phone to be in market for a long time.

Even 5310 or 5130 have a dedicated audio chip (google dac-33 nokia)
X1-00 will have a good loud speaker, but with no dac-33 dedicated audio chip, earphone quality will be average, compared to xpressmusic
Therefore not really for music lovers

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2011I was looking forward for this phone, but wait a minute, NO CAMERA? Nokia, you lose the chance... moreThat's what C1-01 is for - not much higher price & with all the niceties of typical S40 handset (hence also data connection, j2me (meaning Opera Mini or IM), camera; also audio player); X1-00 is just geared in a different direction within similarly constrained budget (plus nowadays it's too hard to get a phone WITHOUT camera...)

Looks like a good military phone, where image capturing devices are not allowed.

I've got a China Blackberry Bold 9700 Replica as a backup phone for my Iphone 4.
It costed be 30 Euros and it features;
- Dual Sim
- Optical Touch Scroller
- 320 x 240 screen which is way better than the screens on low end nokia and samsung phones;
- 2GBs of Memory, 2000 contacts on Phone memory
- TV and Radio Tuner
- VOice pitch changing option, (for turning your voice during a live phone call), brilliant thing to have some fun.
- 1.3 MP Camera
- LED Light
- a very neat copy of blackberry bold 9700 which is extremely hard to be identified as a replica of the original phone

etc etc etc

now beat that in 35 Euros
