AnonD-39937, 18 Mar 2017AMD said that next-gen laptop APUs(Zen core architecture + Vega graphics architecture , can't ... moreI agree can't wait baby!!!
Kangal, 20 Mar 2017I agree.... this thing just killed half of Intel's lineup.
There's no need for Pentiums, Cele... moreMore likely than not, Intel will wait for the next architecture and paint that much needed "sanity-check" as a major improvement of that architecture.
Business 101.
I agree.... this thing just killed half of Intel's lineup.
There's no need for Pentiums, Celeron's, or Core i3's anymore.
If anything, Intel would be wise to move their entire products down one category for instance:
Core i3-8100 - $80 - 2C/2T 3.5GHz (replaces the G4560)
Core i5-8300 - $130 - 4C/4T 3.5GHz (replaces the i3-7350K)
Core i5-8550 - $220 - 4C/8T 4.0GHz (replaces the i5-7400)
Core i7-8600 - $300 - 6C/12T 4.0GHz (replaces the i5-7600K)
Core i7-8700K - $360 - 6C/12T 4.5GHz (replaces the i7-7700K)
Anonymous, 18 Mar 2017When are they gonna release Ryzen chips for Laptops/Notebooks?AMD said that next-gen laptop APUs(Zen core architecture + Vega graphics architecture , can't wait, baby!)are coming in the second half of 2017(this is sure)... Desktop APUs in the first half of 2018(probably, because they said mobile APUs will come first)... Here you can see the specs and more details: https://www.google.ro/amp/wccftech.com/amd-raven-ridge-apu-vega-zen-hbm-2017/amp/
AnonD-5197, 18 Mar 2017I really hope they give Intel a run... it's been too long.I hope so. Over 300 euros for a 6700K when I bought it... Next time I'm going for X299 or something like that, I'm done with these lower-end CPU's. :-) So I hope the prices are at a reasonable level, when it's time to say goodbye to Skylake.
The name "Ryzen" just screams gaming! I mean they could release a low-end CPU called Ryzen 1 and it would still sound like a high-end gaming CPU! :P
Anonymous, 18 Mar 2017When are they gonna release Ryzen chips for Laptops/Notebooks?Probably after they start selling APUs with Zen cores.
Ewiase, 18 Mar 2017Intel is done for good with their so call pricy cpus Wishful thinking, although I always buy AMD whenever I can, the fact is all Intel has to do is adjust pricing -- they still have the technological upper-hand.
Fortunately though AMD is now competitive enough to force a change.
ProJames, 17 Mar 2017From now on, Core i3 are dead. Either put in a few bucks for these beasts or lie with Pentium ... moreI really hope they give Intel a run... it's been too long.
AnonD-39937, 17 Mar 2017AMD has Ryzen over i5 too, only i3 is remaining, Intel should reconsider their prices. :))))From now on, Core i3 are dead. Either put in a few bucks for these beasts or lie with Pentium processors (that are pretty much as powerful, Celeron being the ultra-low-costs chips for CPUs).
So glad to see AMD was really going against Intel's (yet) totally monopolized market share.

This is the best thing that happened on the consumer CPU marked since at least a decade.
Ryzen will be the heart that beats in my next laptop. Intel based laptop are too expensive
