Fusion, 21 Mar 2017Hey look its Android "Obsolete"..Obsolete? ... with 80%+ of the global market share??
AnonD-510098, 21 Mar 2017I dont care what it is in Android O but it needs to be called Android Oreo or I'll leave Android....Im surprised you havent left android when they unveiled NOUGAT! Lol.
IDIOTos, 22 Mar 2017When comes to P, will it called 'PIZZA'??No pizza is not a dessert.. Probably Android P-Parfait
Xdadevet, 21 Mar 2017Little known fact that the first two versions of Android were called "Android Alpha" and "Andr... moreNope.. The early Android versions were named after.. androids! A-Astro as in Astroboy, B-Bender as in Futurama. By the time they got to C copyright issues surfaced then they change to desserts C-cupcake, D-donut, E-eclair, F-froyo, G-gingerbread, H-honeycomb, I-Ice cream sandwich, J-jellybean, K-kitkat, L-lollipop, M-marshmallow, N-nougat, O-oreo?
Don't worry! Nearly 90% of Android haven't even get upgrade to Android 7.0 or 7.1.1 Nougat, now we are talking about new Android O that at most reach Nexus/Pixel users by end of the year, others OEMs users sorry! Wait long long!
Depressed Indian, 21 Mar 2017I've used all (most of the prominent) Android versions from 2.3 Gingerbread to 7.0 Nougat and ... morewhat battery issue? If you are using modern android 3000mah will last you all days while 4000mah will last you full day. Couple with 3gb ram, the phone will be smooth as ever.
Let's first get Nougat properly to the market .....oh sorry --- that's always the phone manufacturers responsibility.....which of course seldom happens till the next ship has well and truly sailed.......naked OS only from now on......is this where your heading? Hmmm.....
rishi is here, 21 Mar 2017so can we expect this update on pixel 2 or it's rolling out for pixel, 6P and 5X as beta update? Its already rolling out to the phones you mentioned under "developer preview". That's why it says DP is out, if it were to wait for Pixel 2 then it would say DP will be out :)
AnonD-559781, 21 Mar 2017If you don't have a Google Pixel, Nexus 6P, or Nexus 5X, then that is your fault. Samsung isn'... moresome country dont bring google phone on their market ... all we can see many type of samsung phone because they create many recycle phone every month to conquer the market ....
Fusion, 21 Mar 2017Hey look its Android "Obsolete"..dont talk bad about android ... they will accuse u as apple fan
wasting money , 21 Mar 2017FU Google, I haven't even got Nougat on my god dam phone and you are already preparing 8.0, wh... moreWhy do you even keep buying phones just to stay on the latest version anyway? It's the security updates that are important and a lot of mid-rangers can get those frequently. Just go get a decently priced phone from one of the major OEMs and you're good to go. And as if you're gonna use all of the new features on every OS release.
I've used all (most of the prominent) Android versions from 2.3 Gingerbread to 7.0 Nougat and it's been a long, long journey. Android has taken over the globe like nothing else, it's everywhere and almost all the manufacturers are releasing Android phones all the time and this has contributed to more features. Android has evolved as a superphone OS but it's resource hungry, and the focus has been shifted to power efficiency only now. I'm a disabled person so life's tough for me and for that reason, I'm using my phones all the time to distract myself from my disability. Let's talk to the point, lots of things dictate battery backup, most important being display, processor, and software. With new generation power efficient processors built on 10nm & 14nm, it's not much of a worry and the display brightness can be adjusted to save power. The software needs to heavily optimized as that plays a crucial role in battery backup, and this is an area where Google has to work hard. Android kills the battery, and it's been killing the battery being a resource hungry OS. This is one fatal issue with Android. I'm saying this after using some 20 Android phones in the past 7 years..

Samsung isn't going to care about software updates anytime soon so it's best you get a "Phone By Google".
