AnonD-237381, 24 Mar 2017It seems you forgot the fact that iPhone storage isn't expandable, the S8 has microSD support. And you forgot expandable memory isnt anywhere near as fast as internal storage, not as reliable and usable for many intensive applications and that the UFS 2.0 card slot unveiled by Samsung last year doesnt seem to even be present this year on the S8 or Note 8.
Ok, if Apple can charge you 800 USD for their rubbish phones, Samsung should actually charge you 1500-2000 USD!
The best phone should be the most expensive!
So I would say today 1500 USD for S7 edge, 2000 USD for S8 would be most appropriate pricing!!!
And if yout think that would be too expensive, think again!
The average wages are around 3500 USD/month in the US. So the average person can buy these phones in the US for the salary of his one working week.
(There are many areas in the US, where people's salary is around 100.000 USD/year. For those people it's 2 days of work.)
There are sh.tholes in the world, where it costs much more in working days.
Randomly: for example Russia. The average monthly wages are around 390 USD there. Two years ago their currency blew up, and now last month people got a 30% bump in their salary, so they won't die of famine. So now it's about 510 USD. So until now they had to work 57 days for a phone like this, now it's 44 days.
So it's exactly the same, as if a person in the US should pay 6650 USD (Yes: Six thousand, six hundred and fifty) for the phone (or 5130 USD).
Would you give 6000 USD for a phone? Because that's the reality for people in many countries. To get a high-end phone, they have to work for months.
Crazy.. I'm in Canada if it's more than a 1000$ for s8 plus.. I'll be getting the lg g6 instead.. I'm so looking forward to the s8 but price will determine.. I'm using the s7 edge since the note 7 was returned....... Come on Samsung don't raise the price because you screwed up with the note 7...... So am I getting lg g6... All depends on the Samsung s8 plus price..
Freeda Bees, 24 Mar 2017Why do you think you would need more than 4 GB? Probably for social climbing through 10 platforms. Playing many games at once. Watching so many videos at once. And maybe because short attention span...
AnonD-307714, 24 Mar 2017No, Owning a flagship is all about being a poser, for some people that is. Others are willing ... moreExactly. People forget that value for money takes a back seat to tech-stuffing when it comes to top-spec phones.

Do you... really n... moreAlso, I think you may have under estimated how easy an Iris scanner will work. You take the phone from out of your pocket and as you hold it and turn it on as you would any other phone, it does the scan at that distance from your face. It is very intuitive and ergonomically calibrated. I think you will find it is easier than you image.

Do you... really n... morebetter than every year and for me, I like to have a new device every two years, I give my old devices to my mum or dad, since I keep them pristine condition and to this day, my mum is using my old S5, My Dad is using my S4 and I recently gave my S6 Edge 128GB to my wife and I am now using her S5, as she was having issues with the 16GB storage for her whats app, as she likes to keep everything, audio, pictures ect, and you can not move the whatsapp data to the SD card without it trying to re download stuff. I swapped with her and switch OS to AOSP so I can use the Int mem and SD card together via Android 7.0 storage manager, so I do not waste the phones I have had.
Anonymous, 24 Mar 2017A "flagship killer" is any cheap Android that can do everything that the flagship, S8..., can ... moreNo, Owning a flagship is all about being a poser, for some people that is. Others are willing to pay the premium to go that last extra mile to get better than "It will do the job", take a picture, listen to a song or two, over having great pictures and a much deeper sound stage and a brighter, cleaner audio experience and knowing that the device will handle any game or ap that comes along in the next two years, where some devices might start to be less than stellar by the time your thinking to replace it. Flagships are all getting every last bit in a phone you can at the best quality that we can produce. Irrespective of if the quality gap vs the mid ranger alternative.
