AnonD-619539, 26 Mar 2017Don't know. If it's just another phone with a curved screen it's hard to justify the price. If... moretbf you could just wait 6 weeks after initial launch and the price will drop, the price is always artificially high for samsung products at launch due to their popularity, but unlike apple they drop fairly quickly due to the ever competitive android market, they wont want to drop sales due to excessive costs.
before people start bashing samsung here, we also have to remember that apple retails at a very similar price for a iphone 7+, im not saying i agree with it but thats just life, phone prices have rocketed up over the past 3 years, the new huawei p10 will retail in the UK for £689 and it is only a 5.5" standard flat screen for a HUAWEI, WTF. i will buy the s8+ for sure and the sale of my S7E will help ease the pain but those prices are getting a bit stupid....
The price is fair For rich people's and diehard sammy fans :)

Don't know. If it's just another phone with a curved screen it's hard to justify the price. If it's more features that I don't use and expecting me to pay for them. Not gonna happen.
I'll wait until the S9 arrives and pick up the S8+ 64GB cheaply. I suspect it'll have the processing power and memory to keep me happy for the next few years.
AnonD-523334, 26 Mar 2017And I forgot to mention, the "dual camera" option is most stupid.. dual camera are useless
People buy products based on their satisfaction level. If people are satisfied with value they are getting for the price then we should not judge them. But there are people who says things like "you can't afford it". That's just insult to human intelligence. If you think it's a good deal you will buy it regardless. In North America how many people buy phone paying full amount upfront is known to everyone.
Before buying this phone or any phone for that matter you have to ask yourself what more can the phone do compared to the one iv already got? For example if you already own a Galaxy S7 are you really getting £800's worth of upgrade over your S7? Then again if you own a Galaxy S5 and its starting to feel abit long in the tooth and you want the latest flagship maybe the cost doesnt seem as bad.
People tend to buy new phones becasue there bored with the one they have yet the new one doesnt really do anything different.
Tech heads will buy it at release, wise heads will wait a couple of month for a price fall.
No stereo speakers
No front speakers
No 4K HDR screen
No bluetooth 5.0
No usb 3.1
No more front physical home button
May not get android 8 before end of january
.--.. Unless it comes with 128GB of internal storage (matching the Iphone 7 price for similar storage) and with a good pair of earphones in the box, nope.
Law of diminishing returns applies. My samsung s5 is still doing everything I need relatively fine, and you can get new reasonably priced android phones that are decent.
The price for the top of the line models does seem to be being raised every year though.
Certainly not worth me spending that sort of money for the upgrade, weighing up the benefits
It is never fair during the early days of any smartphone. You wait a few months for a price drop. I think all phones shouldn't cost any more than $300.
A fair price should be around 420~450 $/€ but you won't see that until A9 same as it's now for a S7. Somehow I think Samsung is crazy trying to cash on costumers for it's fiascos with Note 7 so nuts that it is trying to push mid A series for a price bigger than last year (better) C series, top end of A series & now "fairly" priced S7 models. Funniest part is people will still buy this shit & pay asked price because it's o mi o my a shiny "Samsung", my precious.
A bit early for this kind of poll, isn't it ?
In three days we'll have the official announcement, and maybe few days after that the official prices for different parts of the world will be revealed
I think that'd be a much better time for a poll like this
And I forgot to mention, the "dual camera" option is most stupid..
Over €900 for a model that requires almost constant updates!? I had several Samsung devices... Updates, updates and updates. All the applications that keeps requesting attention.
How good is the stereo sound, how amazing is the camera? Is it really worth that much I wonder...
Not any of the options. It may be a fair price as it is the best phone in terms of camera, display and processing power, and some novel features like eye recognition. but not my cup of tea. I prefer metal not glass, and battery life, while maybe equal to S7, (if we assume that display and efficient processor will make up for relatively smaller battery ) will be less than oneplus 5 . Then you may argue that I can choose the fourth option, but I'm not preferring OP5 because it is more "value", but because I think oneplus will be better than S8 in some key areas and where it will fall short, the difference won't be significant (ex, camera quality). So the reason is not the price, but actually for me OP is better. The price maybe justifiable for S8 tech, but oneplus is hopefully better than S8 even when u neglect the price difference. The reason is that oneplus is skipping some expensive but not so important tech, for example Iris scanner. When fingerprint is there, practically, an Iris scanner don't make a big difference.
