It's Yankee ism, iPhone so called American brand is 100% made in China. It's the specs high end, but it's own specified not Snapdragon Nor Exynos eithet. Only busy Don't camera sensors, rest on turn key basis. Why do we need to buy or change a hardware only 20% efficient than previous. Minimum Three years should. Be replacement period. Otherwise it's changing for Heck of It, I'd Foolish and Cheapest. By 2020 we may get S20 even.

Except for big brands like Nokia, Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, Blackberry (some of them are dead now) others struggle to provide proper support and service. Also, there is no resale value in the second-hand market. Moreover, these flagship killers are not that much cheaper to consider to be a one time use-and-throw type usage.
This phone is 799€ on Amazon (Germany) wtf are you talking about?!
Savor, 02 Apr 2017Curved displays is the "new thing" that brings nothing useful to consumers. LG has a more prac... moreJust because you don't like curved screen does not mean everyone does.. It has features which are really good. Something is better than nothing! If you don't like it, then just dont use it! Its better if its there! Only people who have never bought a Samsung flagship as soon as its launch or never talk like this. Only users of Samsung flagships know about its true reality. You guys just wait for paid reviews on youtube to understand, but we know the reality!
And yeah Nokia is going to be big. Only Nokia can take on Samsung. Only companies like Samsung Nokia and Apple have the capability to improve the smartphone instead of just upgrading the processor and RAM like others!
We saw Nokia who was smart to invest in durablity in their new phones instead of better processor which would just make it a second faster.
LG is also really good because they try different things too.
These devices have become far too costly for what they are....they cost as much as a laptop/desktop computer. People you have allowed this to become the norm...need to step back and learn to say "NO". Smartphone cost on an average to make $150-240 to make....it just what they do to get their R&D costs back as fast as possible and then leave the price at that mark. So they make billions, when they could charge less....we like idiots go and buy a phone for $700 -900, WOW!! I buy phones that cost $399-499, that's all I'm going to pay.
mir, 02 Apr 2017Spoken like a true fanboy.I'm not a fanboy but I want the latest and greatest. Galaxy S8 is unmatched, nothing better is available.
I just don't get one thing when Apple keeps its prices high after removing basic features everyone is happy, but players like Samsung and Google are not allowed to do so even if they provide better features like a good AI and a better display with extra ordinary camera plus a better performance of Chip sets. Just accept the fact people Samsung will surpass everything and every record.
I admit the phone is interesting for me, especially the camera, it really attract me with the results. But with that price I don't think it is worthed. Right now I'm using Xiaomi Mi4C and its already fulfill my needs for daily usage. So to upgrade to the S8/S8+ Its beyond my willingness to pay that much money just to get an upgrade which I dont see the neccessity of it right now.
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2017S8 have very bad design with a constantly smudged camera lens because almost unreachable finge... moreObviously you never used a curved screen phone, curved screen is one of the the best part about the galaxy S8 which makes it so beautiful, actually the most beautiful smartphone and its not about preference, S8 is really the most beautiful smartphone. There's nothing like reflective issues or these things you mentioned. About the fingerprint sensor, it's not that difficult once you are used to it, I don't like rear mounted for scanners but I'm okay with S8 as it has iris scanner if you don't want to use that rear mounted fp scanner. The good thing is it still has it.

Reasons to get an S8.
1. New design (shorter, narrower)
2. To throw away money
3. To show off
That's it. A newer design with a disproportionate, taller screen with mostly last year's hardware. I can already sense the Note8 will be another letdown.
Get a Nokia 8. The true king of mobile. I'm old school and I gotta stick with the OG legends! OGs in Motorola and Nokia. Samsung will never get the Android skin right.
Samsung will always be a second-rate brand trying to disguise itself as premium. The faux king. Like Hyundai and Kia will always be inferior to me than Honda and Toyota.
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2017S8 have very bad design with a constantly smudged camera lens because almost unreachable finge... moreYeah the fingerprint scanner is the only problem. They didnt want to just copy others and put it in between, that would also make the phone expensive because Samsung will have to pay patent for using that design. But if you hate curved edges, then thats a different thing... Curved edge screens are same as flat screen with extra display which is curved, if you hate the reflection on edges then cover it, it'll look like flat screen again😂. Anyways curved screens are the next thing, flat is soo 3 years old! Curved screen just lets you do more things, if you hate it then don't use it.
You never buy any smartphone during the first few months unless you get a ton of freebies with it. You should wait a few months to even a year. Then get it at under $400.
That's basically how and why I got a S7 edge. I really wasn't planning to but I saw a trade-in promo from T-Mobile. I saw an LG G5 for $120 at Best Buy or $5 per month for 24 months. Bought it. We don't have contracts anymore if you can pay off the entire balance of the phone.
Paid off the phone at Sprint completely hours to eliminate any balance to be stuck with them. Then used it as trade-in for the S7e. The first two months, I will need to pay $30 extra for the S7e but will get a rebate card through the mail to pay it off completely.
The only phone I felt I overpaid for is the Google Pixel at $650. But I love that phone. Fast. Fluid. The G5 and S7e, I basically paid $380 for BOTH of them. That's a $600 savings between them. What you do is look for carrier promos and scour through Best Buy weekly ads or anything through Slick Deals.
The current price of the S8 isn't really an issue for me. That's standard price initially. You wait for discounts until it drops to under $400 after nearly a year once Samsung wants to liquidate inventory.
My biggest qualm with the S8 is it is essentially an S7 edge in a narrower, iPhone 7-width design. Nothing else really improved.
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2017I still haven't got any network issues with any mi device. The fact is they use same modems as... moreThe modem in the processor is not enough. There is a reason Samsung always gets faster speeds in network. Pixel was the first i hav seen which is close or equal to Samsung... I have tested most flagships with same processor with Airtel 4G network, Xiaomi never reached anywhere close to Samsung, its average was almost half! OnePlus was good enough but changes each time and still not near Samsung. Pixel and Samsung was the most stable with almost same results each time and every time its better than any other phone. Thats why design matters. Most companies just upgrade only things which people know about, they just buy processor, RAM, camera from some other company and put it in a new body and call it a new smartphone.
Samsung makes 6GB RAM for others, and they also have a mid range phone with it, but why didn't they add it in their flagship? Because they know its pointless which will just make it more expensive, takes lots of battery and also waste space in motherboard.
keeping my S7 will wait for S9. There's no big changes in S8 apart from the screen and inside which you can't really the difference in performance. I'm worried also with that small battery with screen battery life will be crap.
Europa, 02 Apr 2017In my country the S8+ is gonna cost approximately 1300 Euro.Could buy a GTX 1080 Ti, a OnePlus 3T and still have money for a cake and coffee, even with the high taxes in my country for that price .-.
