CSR, 05 Apr 2017not all people ar using vr..as us said just an improvement but totally pointless for mostExactly his point BTW. VR is horrible because Samsung made it to be horrible. It's a self fulfilling prophecy.
It's like saying that Apple was wrong to enter the smartphone market because it had little interest. But the truth was that it had little interest because it was horrible at the time.
Good VR, everybody would care. Bad VR , nobody cares. And Samsung is an endless source of bad VR. Perpetuating a self fullfiling prophecy.
DisplayMate was always been about marketing. How could something with massive color shift at angles be the best? Greenish tint is visible on clock even on picture above.
At first I was impressed with the number of comments here but a few pages of scrolling, it tells me that there is a debate between this and Sony's 4K display which increased the number of comments.
[deleted post]Best part of this post for mocking GSMArena is that the person can't read even the title "..concludes DisplayMate"
NokiaBeast, 05 Apr 2017Sony's CLEDIS technology is far better than any other technologies today. It's the only rival ... moreDear sweet little baby, lcd is old technology. Nobody need it, except sony fanboys.
They just happen to announced it first cos S8 wasn't at MWC. The one that's available first is the one.
the s8 is not the first phone to come out with hdr.... the xperia xz PREMIUM is the first.
thats good news to hear. it makes me more excited to receiving my S8+ i would like to know which was the most accurate since the display has more the one setting like
Apples iPhone will get the same topnotch rating - because its the very same tech - because thats how Apples has ordered it - we want the same as you have.
AnonD-307714, 05 Apr 2017PPI is higher only due to larger screen and thus more pixels going in one direction, not more ... moreUUMMM... you will find that smaller screens increase the PPI (pixels per inch) density not the other way around.
The only other way to increase the PPI is to increase the resolution.
Anonymous, 05 Apr 2017In that nothing else has already resolution to perform any differently. So you are bias or not... moreWhat you say is illogical. Samsung said 3 years ago that they are getting serious about VR. The fact that the competition didn't either tells nothing about the issue. It merely says that Samsung lie. 4 generations in a row the same ppi (badically)! Samsung lied, and I'm calling them out, stop supporting their ways.
Joselius, 05 Apr 2017Shut up. It is the only most competitive mobile vr device. I dont see other brand with their o... moreIt's horrible. Just because the competition doesn't hAve anything better doesn't mean that gear VR is not a traumatic experience, it only means that VR won't walk and will remain the joke it currently is.
Which is a shame because it is actually an even better idea than smartphones but is kept down by horrible actualization. A bit of how smartphones were before Apple. Terrible gimmicks that only few nerds cared about,
Anonymous, 05 Apr 2017There ppi is fine and as far as vr goes the gear vr is the best thing wroth phones right now. ... moreIt's a horrible gimmick. VR has the capacity to take over the world , it doesn't only because of Samsung's (and similar's) half hearted attempts. Just because the competition is ovpaten worse doesn't mean that your product isn't also terrible.
I mean Nokia communicator was basically the best smart phone of that era. A horrible phone though. So is Gear VR, a horrible experience. Samsung words was that they are going to bring VR to the living room (their words, not mine), they lied and at this point they rip us off. 4th gen in a row almost same resolution. So shameful.
NokiaBeast, 05 Apr 2017Sony's CLEDIS technology is far better than any other technologies today. It's the only rival ... moreAmoled never was backlighted. So what your point? CLEDIS mLED by Sony claimed blacker than OLED back in CES. I see that as bogus claim. The pixel is shut off for black color in Superamoled. The mLED blacker than oled? What are they using? Some sort of nanoparticle blackhole that absorb light?! Btw, this tech is used on TV. They introduced it as a 110" 1080p TV. And the fact that it is 2feet thick is even more shocking. Shrinking that tech to a usable mobile size would take almost 10 years let alone vr size. It wont become mainstream either unless Sony have a large scale production capacity to distribute this technology to other manufacturer.
AnonD-659238, 05 Apr 2017Samsung has payed display mate for ranking the device, witch basically the note 7 + s7 if th... moreLiterally every major in mobile tech world admitted that AMOLED screen is the best. Gsmarena, phonearena, display mate, even APPLE says that AMOLED is the best screen. The only people that say otherwise are those angry fanboys.
Doesn't matter who pays who, or who sponsors who. The matter is the result speaks for itself :)
