Since it's under Amazon, they should call the app store "Jungle" or something

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2011LOL this is crazy... Apple suing Amazon for the name "AppStore". It's like one resta... moreJust for the record, the last I checked, the word "AppStore" is not listed in the English dictionary fyi. "Restaurant" (as with "Bar" or "Grill") on the other hand, is a generic English word and is not invented solely for a descriptive purpose which explains why restaurants don't sue each other.

With all due respect, Apple DID invent the word (Hell, they even invented the word "App" when everyone else did not even know what an application even was!) and they DID place a patent on it and have EVERY RIGHT to sue anyone found infringing it.

Nothing against Amazon here but they should have done their homework (as with the Kindle) before going around and stepping on a bigger cat's tail.

Ok everyone exhale. I am sure that the Amazon Android store will be coming to the UK soon. The one main advantage that i can see to this store is that Apps are checked more than they are in the Google store which i think is a really good thing.

Yeah Amazon SUCKS !!! It's for US only. And it keeps forcing u to make a payment account (with credit card number) for buying the apps, even it's a free apps. What if u don't have a credit card and u don't want to buy a paid apps forever...really really SUCKS !!! Google's Market is the best !!!
