No, the G2X is not identical to the Optimus 2X. It has support for very, very fast 4G on T-Mobile.

What's with T-Mobile's method of renaming phones? The take a cool sounding name, "Optimus," and replace it with something lame, the letter 'G'. Then they do the opposite by taking a lame name, C7, and replace it with a cool sounding name, "Astound."

If that's the phone that nokia was claiming to sale millions, that's a fail.

              Anonymous, 22 Mar 2011With the fate of T-Mobile 3G hanging on a thread, I don't think I want to risk buying G2X. AT&... moreG2x supports both T-Mobile & AT&T's 3G bands.

With the fate of T-Mobile 3G hanging on a thread, I don't think I want to risk buying G2X. AT&T already stated that they MIGHT not support 1700 and 2100 frequency, and people gonna have to "upgrade their phones" if they want continue using 3G.

The Nokia Astound OS has the new browser and portrait QWERTY installed.

Nice of the Americans to beta test PR2.0 for the rest of us ;)

why would acompanies tariff get cheaper as result of a takeover? Especially one that gives it control over about the entire market

lets just say alot can happen in a years time, and t-mobile is doing preety great on its own. I hope AT&T gets better and cheaper plans due to this takeover. *fingers crossed*
