OnePlus' "OpticAMOLED" is a Samsung-made FHD SuperAMOLED display panel. This was verified early on by teardowns, not to mention the fact that I get all of my OP3 replacement panels from Samsung. Also, any OP3 display panel RMA swap through an authorized service provider, such as myself, goes through Samsung, not OnePlus.

Obviously you're not a golfer.

Joselius, 11 Apr 2017The dual edged display indicated it will be amoled screen. More battery efficient than ips lcd... moreScreen is already OLED in OP3T, Samsung sourced nonetheless. Any gain in battery life thanks to the new chips efficiency will be cancelled out if they go QHD and if the rumours of the battery being smaller than 3T is true then it's not rocket science but 5 will have a worse of battery life.

Wrong move. SD835 adds pricing without adding much of everyday performance (3T was a mamouth already), it does use less battery though but not by enough to counteract the increase of resolution.

QHD: barely adds any clarity but kills a lot of performance and some of the battery.

OnePlus 3T was a balance phone. In everything (apart from camera) almost perfect. It's wrong to spoil this balance.

So I guess they will reduce the top bezel? I'm fine with that, even if I won't use the capacitive buttons and stick to on screen for ergonomics. I'm also one of the minority that finds 3000mah fine, even with an inefficient QHD display (not samsung class).

Please don't regress the battery to 3000 mah from 3400 mah in the 3t. Please Oneplus.

As a future buyer of the next oneplus i just hope that they keep the capacitive buttons, don't make the batteries too small for the sake of thinness, and personally I'd prefer flat screen rather than curved screen. To me curved screen is kinda impractical. The other rumoured specs is nice
