["The main focus falls on the XPERIA Play - the first "Sony Playstation certified device". (Seriously, Sony Ericsson!? It's like Apple calling the iPhone the first iPod certified device in the world)."]
You'v Said It Pal
Also the gingerbread update is only for xperia x10.After the update the face recognition for camera will be removed and the mediascape will be replaced by the new music player and widgets.
Langbaba, 25 Mar 2011SE, you lost me (and MANY others) after 5 generations of SE phones with the dismal support you... morexperia x10 getting gingerbread q2 this year. sony announced it this morning. check engadget
Sony just release that they are bringing gingerbread to all previous driod X phones check it out. This summer after the luanch of these 3 phones . http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/25/xperia-x10-to-get-android-2-3-this-summer-makes-us-rub-our-eyes/#
Langbaba, 25 Mar 2011SE, you lost me (and MANY others) after 5 generations of SE phones with the dismal support you... moreGet your facts straight. SE Has announced Gingerbread update for X10.
total wastage of money because arc does not have front camera, you can not make video call
SE, you lost me (and MANY others) after 5 generations of SE phones with the dismal support you provided current Xperia - how long do you plan to support these new devices before dumping it for something even newer? 6 Months? Maybe a year this time???
Most of us sit with a minimum of 24 months contracts (in south Africa at least) - 24 months worth of support/updates would at least be nice!
I now sit with a device that will not be upgraded in the future because SE is afraid that people won't buy new hardware ... pity, now a LOT of people will move to other brands because of SE's attitude!
Jonny, 24 Mar 2011I think they should spend the £4,000,000 by giving away the phones and having competitio... moreWhat you told is very true. A similar spec phone of other brand will be at least 100$ cheaper
Hope, 25 Mar 2011It's good to know that S/E are promoting their devices. They should learn from samsung who off... morewhen android has suport for dual-cores then u will buy a dual-core fone? Its easy to just update the OS then to buy a new set!
U buy a unicore set now, and when the suport comes for multiple cores, say in about 3 to 4 months, what wil u do then? Then u wil buy a dual-core set?
"Seriously, Sony Ericsson!? It's like Apple calling the iPhone the first iPod certified device in the world"
... I have to disagree with this. It's more like Google calling the Nexus One the first Android certified device in the world.
From what we've seen SE has pretty much just developed a piece of "PlayStation" software for Android, which like any other piece of software can run on any compatible device. It would make sense for them to make this software available to other handset manufacturers (probably for a fee, and with strict device compatibility requirements) to the benefit of both companies.
There are many ways this can work well, and the market has shown that they're happy to play games on their phones, so long as the games are good!
ugly phone made by sony ericsson, they could've add up a mobile features to their PSP, it would be a greath phone..,
This is the multi-million commercial SE been talking about.
It's good to know that S/E are promoting their devices. They should learn from samsung who offer the most boring products in the world yet they sell well because they promote their devices.
At least this time the devices are worth advertising! And before any samsung fans fire back on me, tell me does samsung have any interesting device other than the Galaxy? guess not, yet they keep advertising 24/7 for all the other useless devices they have got.
At least now s/e will be advertising for gadgets that are truly appealing and have great features.
Finally, when will people wake up and understand that android still doesn't support dual cores!! Please don't be brainwashed by specs that you won't even benefit from them. Whenever android 3.0 comes out than let's speak about dual cores.
Flavine, 25 Mar 2011Very disappointed with SE for using customers as their guinea pigs in their X10 Android debut.... morex10 is fine with eclair... If you want a vanilla froyo that bad you can mod it.
i'm using x10 myself, and i love my phone. It's still very top of the line in 2011. No dual-core but thats fine, its only 1 step down from the best. 1ghz is still plenty good in 2011.
Flavine, 25 Mar 2011Very disappointed with SE for using customers as their guinea pigs in their X10 Android debut.... moreHey, that k750 was my phone, and I jumped to HTC Hero which haven't got froyo either.
Anyway, I still have unused k750 with me. Anybody interested? :))
