Great news! I'm a big fun of Samsung and Gingerbread surely run extremely well on it!
I've foung a blog where they explain how to install Android 2.3.3 in the Galaxy S.

P. to all ppl sayin iphone is better than sgs is wrong, yes we have to install third party apps etc.. to make it faster and so on... but come on, check out sgs wen all is installed and ull see sgs woops iphone, iphone is sooo borin and to me the camera has to much saturation, the screen is way to small and the OS looks the same as any iphone, u have to take ya charger where ever u go, not like sgs where its small usb as most ppl now have small usb so no need to take ya charger about. The list goes on about how behind the iphone is. So wen i had the choice to get the iphone or the sgs, then hell yeh i went for the sgs

Darkys gingerbread version is better than Samsungs version, then install the landscape touchwiz mod and voodoo sound kernal plus root it, then ull have a mobile fone wat is absolutely amazin

Second, SGS is a legendary handset and t... moreI am loving the new firmware it's fast and have not even rooted it yet.the web browser so a lot better far more responsive. Fast videos play better to in browser. The galaxy s may still get another update thanks to it being hardware compatible with the nexus s. Best investment android phone yet.

WorkS, 27 Mar 2011Don't come running to samsung if there are problems after you flash your sgs or in worse case ... moreIt can be downloaded from samfirmware.com, and warranty can be back by just installing an other of all the official firmwares on samfirmware.com using Odin. SGS is a very good Android because it is almost impossible to "brick" because of the 3 botton "download mode" and Odin.

Don't come running to samsung if there are problems after you flash your sgs or in worse case scenario - bricking your phone.
Xda,is not affiliated with samsung so why trust them saying "it's official." If it is really official then they would'nt say "use at your own risk." *duh*
And also "official" means "approved by",liable to any concern,taking responsibility. Capich¨¨.
My posts are just a friendly reminder for gsmarena and for users who plays safe and or general users.*non-techies* BUT you have the right to do WHATEVER you want with your phone. You bought it with your own money so live your life. It just voids the warranty.

The 2.3.3 ROM works like butter on the sgs, it was the most needed FW after the 2.3.2 release. i experienced rapid RAM usage, with just FB, music player and the web browser the phone would freeze! but with 2.3.2 it works like charm! i've experience an issue with the music player though, play music, swithc off the screen and the music player freezes. Also the gyro doesnt work with Gmaps, cant use the pinch-to-rotate or the auto rotate feature on Gmaps

Alreadz installed, everzthing works fine. There is also root solution on xda. Phone works faster and snappier.
