Anonymous, 23 Apr 2017The new ui of the S8 looks alot better now, much better than Sony's ageing ui in my opinion. It might look better. Still doesn't perform better.
People go and read reviews of S8's stuttering, jittery animation. Still the same jank skin over it. It might run snappy for a day but start feeling laggy over time. People are only fooled by a mirage.
My Mi 3 from three years ago with highly customized Chinese ROM called MIUI with several updates runs smoother. That's optimized to every kernel. Samsung doesn't care about software performance. They don't care to beat several other OEMs in RAM management either. Once it starts to slow down, their planned obsolescence wants you to buy their next flagship.
Samsung is awful. Always was a second-rate brand back in the 1990's. Still is one today. All they did was copy Apple's marketing and style. Samsung only became #1 by default. Nokia had to mess up. Same with Sony with television and other electronics. Buying Samsung is like buying a Kia or Hyundai over a Toyota and Honda.
The only South Korean manufacturers I like is Cowon from back in the portable media player days and LG. People can go laugh at LG like they do to the LA Clippers. Been luckier with LG. I prefer photos on my G5 than Pixel! And the Pixel beats the S8+ in photos as seen from Krystal Key. It seems both S8 and G6 went backwards or neutral with photography from their predecessors.
Still holding on to my Galaxy S6 edge. Don't see the need to upgrade any time soon. But, if I have to pick, I would pick the Galaxy S8+ because of the larger display and battery.
Still holding on to my Note Edge. I'll wait for the Note 8 as it will hopefully mark the return of the Note to Europe.
[deleted post]Or... maybe GSMArena just wanted to see which of the two Galaxy S8 is more desirable. Adding "seeing other brand" will defeat that purpose. The Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ have exactly the same specs. The only thing that sets them apart is the battery capacity and the screen size (and price), much like the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. Infact, GSMArena had already done a weekly poll between ONLY the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.
Anonymous, 23 Apr 2017It's because Apple and Samsung have heavy R & D costs to invent crazy things like 3D Touch... moreYeah because the tri-bezeless thing and ultrasonic proximity sensor of Mi Mix *definitely* don't need any R&D costs, all the chinese are doing is getting parts from the shelf ... *not*.
All the while Apple and Samsung are researching the next gimmick some company, somewhere else may just be researching something that may benefit the user ... a bit of how Samsung and Apple *used to* do.
Garbage in, garbage out. I'm much more excited from the Chinese market at this point. "Western" brands have gone stale lately. Adding a single feature each generation, gone are the days that they would upgrade a whole armada of features at the same time. They're playing it "safe" and I don't like safe and since I'm not a corporate executive I find the phones of late rather miserable.
I'm excited for phones like the new Huawei Mate, or Mi Mix 2 ... you know phones that are choke full with new and updated stuff, like Samsung phones used to be ...
I will opt for samsung s8 as it more sleaker design and already having a 5.8 inch of ecreen size, and looks wise mire beautifull than s8+.
Anonymous, 23 Apr 2017Compact in my opinion too.Almost same size of s7 edge, not compact..
Anonymous, 23 Apr 2017The new ui of the S8 looks alot better now, much better than Sony's ageing ui in my opinion.Nope.. WRONG, Sony's aging ui looks much more beautiful and cleaner, also its so much lighter than Samsung's dull ui.
Gihanp, 23 Apr 2017You call Samsung's UI beautiful? LolThe new ui of the S8 looks alot better now, much better than Sony's ageing ui in my opinion.
Anonymous, 23 Apr 2017It's because Apple and Samsung have heavy R & D costs to invent crazy things like 3D Touch... moreI have a blackberry phone a long time ago and it has "3D touch" but blackberry did not just naming it like that. So Apple did not actually made it first.
Force Majeure, 23 Apr 2017You can get a Snapdragon 435 device for $106 and 625 for 50 more. Even with 820 for 200-230 US... moreIt's because Apple and Samsung have heavy R & D costs to invent crazy things like 3D Touch or (sorry I have nothing which has been invent by Samsung at the moment). Companys like OnePlus just take the existing things, put them together and sell them at a low price
ithehappy, 23 Apr 2017There should be a hell's nah option damn it.Since there's already a pair of choices why would they add such nonsense? If they are just asking for a single unit without other choices options then it's ok, but since there's already a choices then that would be lame. Just like their previous polls with multiple selection did you complaint for absence of non of the these etc... things? If you don't like any of these choices I suggest you leave this things up and stop complaining.
XtremE16, 23 Apr 2017No never buy this ugly display phone from ugly company... Save money for Xperia XZ premiumGood point, mate
Well guys i voted for the S8 cz its compact and it already has a HUGE 5.8 inch screen wich is almost unseen on other competitors with the same phoen size, is already really roomy, and thanks to it being compact you don't have to do weird stretches to reach the notification shade.
And i was a bit surprised that at the moment in the poll the S8+ is following closely, and i think its cz it outclasses other phones of the same size like the mate 9 in terms of screen size, the bigger the better!
