I like GBoard but the fact that it doesn't autocorrect me in many fields is horrible. We're typing on a small touchscreen so we need all the help we can get. SwiftKey autocorrects me in all fields (except most password fields which is fine), and it's really smart. If there's an email field, it will give me the choice to enter my email as the number one saved choice, awesome and time saving.
While I like customizability, too much of it is time consuming and leads to bugs. I just want something that works.
I really do like those new features that GBoard just launched. I wish SwiftKey would add those.
Did this update increased the vibrations a lil bit? It's too strong on default IMO and I've never felt needing to change it from default earlier. Firtstly I thought sth broken with my phone when I felt this motor...

Though it is free now, it was $4 back then. I really liked it but it is now where near Multiling O Keyboard when it comes to features. This is a very customizable keyboard, you can make your own layout, your own theme, your own short cuts, your own autotext. Only problem is it doesn't predict my next word. (oh wait you know what your next word).
I get it for Nepali Language. It's amazing.

If you don't use their keyboard you are using android(Google again) which runs Google Play services which has all your data anyway. Might as well make the best of it and use a good keyboard.

Any keyboard that wants permission to use internet steals our data. I use a small very customizable keyboard called multiling o keyboard that don't need any such suspicious permissions and it's less than 3mb. If you are a nerd type of guy you will love the features that it has. You can create your own fill in shortcuts. Editing features are abound.
