Polius, 27 Apr 2017Very true. They either copy samsung or stick to the same design 4 years straight like certain ... more...hahahahahahaha... Samsung still is and forever a COPIER... no doubt about that
white with reds all over hahahaha, excellent display?
come on Samsung boys...
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017I love the comments stating that pure white is yellowish or whatever...there is no pure white.... moreHighend displays (monitors, OLED TVs, iPhone 7/Galaxy S7/S8) all have whites that are calibrated to warm color temperature or yellowish whites. Only cheap LCD displays have whites that are cold or bluish like Sony phones.
Irelia, 27 Apr 2017And that is one reason why AMOLED is garbage. Both Anandtech and Displaymate have praised the S7/S8 displays and concluded they are "indistinguishable from perfect." Samsung S7/S8 SuperAMOLED displays are the most color accurate display in existence. They are literally perfect. You should read their technical reviews.
premium price for pink tint..... lol... doom!
thx god my note4 had excellent amoled screen and it run perfect till now
sponger bob, 27 Apr 2017samsung has the worst amoled display. burn in problem , washed and oversatured colors.white co... moreYellowish white is the most accurate white. Samsung can easily make the whites on their SuperAMOLED displays look blueish or colder but that would them not accurate at all. Even Apple has calibrated the iPhone 7 display to yellowish white because that's the most accurate white according to display experts. Blueish whites like on Sony LCD phones are cheap and far from accurate. Experts look down on them.
They've had literally tons of time to work on the glaring issues of Amoled since the Galaxy S1 and all they have to say is an excuse... Lame Samsung.
mischa, 27 Apr 2017Sony phones will never have red tinged display because they are all using cheap LCD screens th... moreLast year
Samsung.. Please sony save us, our batteries are exploding.
Sony... Okay here you go
Samsung... Please sony or LG save us, our displays are showing greenish and yellowish white.
Sony or LG... Please Samsung leave the industry for us and finish this.
My S8 red tint also I paid this expensive phone this is frustrating! I should've bought goggle Pixel!
Ben30, 27 Apr 2017Super amoled crap, I rather choose IPS lcdsamsung has the worst amoled display. burn in problem , washed and oversatured colors.white colors is yellow colors
I have the red tint. Its only on the edges of the phone, and only noticeable when I'm on a white background. It doesn't bother me much and I understand how OLED displays are manufactured so it's fine. But to the average consumer, this might not be okay
"rgb calibration doesnt help, my center/edges/corners of the screen remain red tinted“
Just some of buyer remorse comments from the post that started this gate.
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017Displaymate only checks Samsung and iphones... They do not test other brandsNo use telling him.
I love the comments stating that pure white is yellowish or whatever...there is no pure white. What we perceive as pure white is and always will be biased based on our eyes, and the normal offset of white we see...be it 4500K or 6500K, etc. blueish/ and yellowish are both correct in being pure white...its a matter of perception, not reality.
As for these reddish displays...yeah, it can be the nature of AMOLED...from the diamond pentile arrangement of pixels, its pretty easy to have slightly brighter red or blue pixels, if the display was green, id be more worried, as they are smaller in this configuration...that would mean a larger scale problem in the display (red/blue not getting bright enough etc.)
