a 1000 € phone should come calibrated to minimize the effect...
That's EXACTLY why I hate AMOLED displays and will never again buy any phone with AMOLED.
Any phone having an AMOLED display have either red/blue or yellow tint, especially from an angle.
IPS all the way...
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017You must be referring to the tinted Xperia displays^^Never seen or heard a news about a Sony phone having red tint
Would definitely be appreciated if you could show me a proof instead of spreading fake bullshits. Peace :3
Rodrigo Freijanes, 27 Apr 2017That's one why I really don't want AMOLED on iPhone.
After years of yellowish whites Galaxy p... moreiPhone 6+ and 7+ actually have even more red tint. Highers red on s8 was measured to be R72 on RGB scale and iphone has something like R78-80.
You comment plainly ignores the fact of how inferior IPS screens on iPhones are - first of all they have half of resolution and pixel density, not as bright, nor as black and consumes 70% more energy. Don't forget screen on modern smartphones are the biggest user of energy. As such it comes as no surprise to me that my S6edge holds 2 days, while my colleagues charges their inferior iphones twice a day doing same work.
The only thing I agree, S8 would benefit from better calibration out of factory.
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017BUT Sony won't be sticking to LCD for long. Migration to AMOLED is inevitableSony has its own display company named as JDI and they are producing their own 'JOLED'.
Tann Hauser, 27 Apr 2017Haters, deniers.... the line is so thin and red inbetween. You must be referring to the tinted Xperia displays^^
Tann Hauser, 27 Apr 2017You mean the smarter era for sure.... Nobody in their right mind ever put you and inferior text on the pedestal of smart. Nice try though
Georgio, 27 Apr 2017Nobody is copying Samsung ; Samsung is the king copycat.Samsung has long moved past that "copycat" phase. It's actually the only one innovating right now. Everyone else is now just copying Samsung.
Tann Hauser, 27 Apr 2017Haters, deniers.... the line is so thin and red inbetween. You do deny any problem when the topic is Sony. Never ever saw as bad brand-tied fanboy as you seem to be.
Iandansk, 27 Apr 2017Despite all of these issues, i think we could all agree that Samsung makes the best displays i... moreThe 'Basic' screen mode of the S7/S8 is the most color accurate display there is. You should look up the technical review of Displaymate on both handsets. The S7/S8 displays are best displays including TV displays. There is literally nothing better and more color accurate than the S7/S8 displays.
Georgio, 27 Apr 2017Nobody is copying Samsung ; Samsung is the king copycat.Riiiiiiiight. You must be new to phones and technology
BigDaddy99, 27 Apr 2017Yup. Sony copying from samsung hoping not to lose their smartphone branch.Nobody is copying Samsung ; Samsung is the king copycat.
Rodrigo Freijanes, 27 Apr 2017That's one why I really don't want AMOLED on iPhone. After years of yellowish whites Galaxy p... moreThe iPhone 7 has a true tone display. It's white is now calibrated to yellowish white just like the yellowish white of the Samsung Galaxy SuperAMOLED because yellowish white is the most accurate white according to color experts. The blue tinged white of LCD screens is far from accurate white.
[deleted post]There is really no better smartphone out right now. For 750 dollars you are getting the best smartphone with the richest set of features, best display, latest processor, fastest RAM and UFS storage that even comes with expensive AKG earbuds which costs 100 dollars plus other accessories in the box. Some retailers/regions even offer VR headset/wireless charging pad as freebies. Seriously, this is the most worthy smartphone you can buy for 750 dollars. Google Pixel costs about as much but don't even have half of the features of the S8, let alone the expensive accessories/freebies.
