Indian should shun chinese products.
WTF...I have been waiting for device since the speculation/rumor days and now they are telling that they'll not launch it in India.....shitty news and shitty plan if xiaomi is sticking to this.
i think the reason behind this is xiaomi lost the last battle with one plus 3 and 3t with their flagship MI 5 so might be considering to launch just entry level smartphones where they are market leaders in india.
too expensive for india?
op3t falls in similar price range. yet it sells more than xiaomi's current flagship in india, mi5.
Mi6 isnt headed to India is not because of Xiaomi , the Mid market flagship market is owned by OnePlus 3T, much superior phone, better service. Xiaomi also knows it, for sure. All of India, including i wait for OnePlus5, which surely will rock and take the Mid market, the way OnePlus3T has done. If it is in June, July, very good, later, Honor or Huawei will gun for this space.
They have very good market research team. They know a phone without memory card slot and 3.5mm jack is not going to sell with what ever the price. Its not about expensive or Indians cant afford. Indian people are very picky for feature to price ratio, brands and after sale support. MI5 failed in india because of its pricing ,base 32gb version and after sale support.
techknow, 28 Apr 2017Considering that the Mi5 was a flop (as per xiaomis standards) with inventory still lying arou... moreyo bro.. hav u seen any commercial of mi 5... any web ad of mi5.. or anythning.. !!!! for brand promotion they just do twitter acts.. which dont reach masses..
they dont promote so they dont sell..
i am a mi5 owner.. n on a serious note it was 4.5k discount that motivated me to buy this phone..
phone turned out to be great.. i love it.. lone issue is very poor support from xiaomi.. no official accessories.. no support in forum.. even the moderator shows up in weeks.. n whn they launched miui update recently there was chaos in forum thx to buggy update.. n thr was no reply in forum or twitter to solve queries.. people dont regret buying this phone but they regret its frm xiaomi..
bottom line is dat.. if u want to sell u need to promote ur product n give after sales support...
IamD3V, 28 Apr 2017Only if the "too expensive for India" line was official n not rumour.. Xiaomi would have been... morebro.. action speaks louder then words...
guys dont expect much from xiaomi whn it comes on selling good phones in india. even for mi5 they launched only 3gb/32gb models in india not 4gb/64/128gb.. they r busy selling their cheap crap in india... i own a mi5.. phone is great but support is very poor.. thr is no moderator in official forum to solve ur queries.. recently whn they launched miui 8.2 for mi5 it was all bugged.. no accessories in mi store.. wat is worst that even accessories for redmi 4a are available in mi store..
OnePlus 5 will almost certainly be vastly more popular than this Mi 6 - not just in sheer sales volume, but amongst the masses as well. Xiaomi was good in the early days (2 - 3 years ago)... now their "flagships" are mediocrity at best.
Sunil, 28 Apr 2017too expensive means people dont like to spend too much money on chinese brand instead they wil... moreSD processor means nothing . Even 13k and 19k phones have SD 8xxx processors nowadays. Would you call those phones flagships?
Yes Mi6 is too costly for India while oneplus3/3t with a higher price tag is doing great in India.
Xiaomi hasn't focussed on the upper price segment in India which gave Oneplus the chance to be the segment leader(at least in online sales of the segment).
Xiaomi fears that mi6 with its 5.15inch won't be as successful in India as it will face competition from 5.5 inched oneplus3t. Also Oneplus 3/3t is the highest rated phoaone in India and hence it would be very difficult for Xiaomi to dent the above 25k segment.
Also if Mi6 would have launched then after Oneplus 5 launch, its sales would have certainly dwindled.
So I think Xiaomi will come to Indian market with Mi 6 plus to compete with Oneplus 5 and provide similar specs at lower price tag.
