here's the deal. When iphone 5 comes out (in five months at best) the current xperia line(already having that 8mp camera module) will already be established on the market, and basically on halfway of their cycle. When iphone 5 comes out, SE will have their NEXT flagship announced! So imagine the likely situation in november this year:
Apple iphone 5 will have nine months to live with facing not the SE Arc or Neo, but the next SE beast packed with 16(or even 18mp camera-that one is also already in pre-production), dual core 1.5 snapdragon processor, next gen reality display with NHD resolution, etc, all running on the android icecream. And android will by that time also be absolutely superior to ios as a platform. Get the picture? Sony knows what they are doing..just earning some money by selling apple their soon-to-be midrange technology. And they are on their way up. While apple is going down in next few years.

I have observed some samsung camera phones and all of them were bad in terms of quality but i dont know how some people say they have better cameras than se!

With the delays Sony are having the camera units, could be a very smart idea, delaying the iph5 while the arc, neo & play are out taking a nice chunk out of apples share, NICE!!! I like it!

i love it how apple can ask to use other companies and get away with it and then claim it their technology, Hopefully Sony burn Apples pockets and produce really cr@p camera units (like the w995 camera, it is rubbish as I know im a user but still love the little phone). SE are awesome though!!! I'm looking forward to Apples ad campaign already for the iph5, this changes everything again haha i doubt it, more like, we have changed our hardware using OTHER manufacturers expertise to make us look good!

A decent upgrade would be a more customizable OS, 12MP camera (perhaps with optical zoom like in Sony's thin T series cameras), 4+ inch screen, dual core CPU with 1.2+ Ghz, 1800-2200 MAh battery, HDMI port, and upgradeable memory.

Sony and S/E provide the best cameras period! You guys who wan't to believe otherwise are just fooling your selves.
Where did you expect apple to get their next cameras? Samsung or HTC be real please.
Apple are improving their iphone dramatically and this began since the iphone4 ( 1ghz - 512 ram - led flash - front camera - retina display - improved battery) etc etc..
Seriously, I never respected the iphone until the iphone 4 came out and now it makes total sense for apple to improve the camera department and who's better than sony to make this job! The only thing I'm concerned about is that it won't be a good thing if the iphone's new camera was as good as the xperia range ( arc - neo - pro) I mean WTF! So, I just hope this won't happen since the whole deal is delayed anyway.
