as much as i liked Samsung with their consistent image quality across their camera modules since D900, i slowly began to lose respect to them for their outrageously stupid decisions. i can't help it. it's just that i never saw Samsung making proper use of their huge R&D funds for creativity and uniqueness. all their phones look the same, with their confusing and inconsistent names, constantly copying designs, UI and concepts from iPhone (same goes for LG here) and now names that sound the same as their competitors. soon people would get pissed with this just as how people got pissed with Nokia lagging behind on the CPU and camera circa 2008-2009 and SE lagging behind in camera image quality from 2007-2008.

so many haters around here..if you dont want to buy this phone because it looks like a rip off then dont...and copying is the greatest form of flattery so i think you should be happy...there are a lot of choices for moblie phone around so i dont see any reason why everyone keeps on bashing each other.. maybe they are jelous of each others phone capability...just search for a moblie fone that suits you and be happy with it...more devices on market means more competition.. this makes manufacturer improve each devices they release to be more compatitive thus beneficial to us all...

"upper midrange segment? ??" I think not - Try the low end of the market, given those specs; This was clearly designed to compete against budget android phones from ZTE and Huawei.

So far there are no those new samsung phones on the market. Even samsung infuse 4g is not available yet; even though, it was shown in January as a fully working model. I love Samsung phones (still hold on Omnia II), but it takes too long time for them to actually make things commercially available.
