Most of the one reviewed by tech blogger doesnt have this red tint problem. They got the units the earliest. Even the unit tested by Displaymate is perfectly white. The units come from preorder seem to be the most defective. Its a 50/50 chance to get a good or bad ones. Better avoid buying it online. The good thing is at least Samsung allowed users to exchange their phone with a new unit. They are focused on battery safety in Samsung SDI. Display quality is admitedly neglected. Samsung Display department is responsible in handling and calibrating the display. Maybe its time to increase QA/QC in Samsung Display.

[deleted post]It's all about color settings as the whole red tint issue was a new tactic from Apple by changing settings, the new update will shut their mouth. There's no real issue like this, it was just created to affect S8 sales.

I have S8+ in the US. Got try hg every tint patch, didn't fix all of the problem. In particular at the top, bottom and sides.
the manufacturing defect is "fixed" in software by
if low limit < serial number < high limit then turn down the red and turn up the green and blue.
Oh my. Why would you risk on an update when you can have an LG G6 in your hand which is tested thoroughly before it is launched.
Getting out of topic,
Why is there no GSMArena Sunday Q&A?
Didn't Sammy claim that the red tint issue is just the nature of AMOLED? And it can be fixed now? Why Sammy didn't fix it before releasing the phone? Their quality department didn't know the issue exists? Come on Sammy!
AnonD-666047, 01 May 2017There's a fix? So it's a defect? Because I'm sure I read somewhere Samsung said AMOLEDs are no... moreIt's a defect that amoleds generally have but there is a way to calibrate it. Obviously it isn't gonna work 100% but at least it's there.
