If you go see the s8 in person the display really looks amazing

The Xperia XZ Premium is using the Adaptive Tone Mapping tech to making the viewing experience perfectly to show the realistic colors in any lighting environment. Fyi, there are much more display tech in this phone, but I think the Adaptive Tone Mapping really important to bring the true color
Anonymous, 08 May 2017Because in reality red tint issue is not that big and happened on Sony devices and others too.... moreOooh, its big. And the tech behind it is indeed lousy.
And you need to step out of delusion bubble.

And the tech is better quality, more natural and more versatile, and more power efficient. And better at hdr, black, equal in whites, better at contrast, vibrant or natural colors, viewing angles, sunlight legibility, minimum brightness....and so on.
At least some fan boys are able to admit some simple facts but you can't accept or admit any.
To you everything Sony is above and beyond with zero flaws and better than anything else in existence.
And everything is garbage in comparison. Especially Samsung where you just can't accept that in reality they actually have some nice advantages over the rest too

Though they could have easily fitted a much better sized battery in. And they really need to put more powerful speakers in it
Tann Hauser, 08 May 2017Actually makes other phones look so more grown up and serious. To hardcore fan boys like you that is

Can the XZ Premium shoot video in 4K HDR (ie both 4K and HDR at the same time) to generate it's own content? I haven't been able to get an answer to this relatively simple question from Sony or anywhere else. Seems a bit silly if it can show footage it can't create itself. Hopefully YouTube, Netflix, etc. apps will be around quickly to support 4K HDR playback as well as the Amazon video app. Ideally I'd like to be able to create YouTube 4K HDR content on this handset.
AnBruh, 08 May 2017Very true, makes most phones look like relics. Actually makes other phones look so more grown up and serious.

Samsungs AMOLED is a defintion of badly engineered tech.
I have owned the Xperia Z5 Premium. Not a bad phone. I will just bring up some bad points I found with it tho. The dual speakers are very quite. The rear glass shattered for no reason. USB failed( no more charging). The screen, even though rated as the highest resolution on the planet was still lacklustre because the colours are so washed out. Camera was pretty good and the waterproofing a big bonus. Earphone output just mediocre. I sold it and never missed it. Battery was pretty weak but not a major issue. All in all , besides all the shiny appeal of the mirror finish, it fell short of being special. Just my 2 cents
I'm still using my Xperia Z Ultra , even though I've broken it's screen twice and it's not waterproof anymore. There's no problem other than the camera which was awful from the beginning and the usb port cap that is loose now.
My point is my next purchase will be XZ Premium for sure. Because i adore sony's design language. And the UI design is clean and fluid too, sure it might lack some useful features like Samsung's multi-window or LG's tap to wake but it's still clean and stylish. The second main reason is this phones camera which I'm sure even if not the best but it'll be among the top 5.
It's true. It's a hot device. I'm extremely interested. Already got my brother wanting it for his upgrade.
I'm torn between it and the Note 8 though
