AnBruh, 08 May 2017At Sony's slow snail pace they'll have a drastically reduced bezel smartphone in the next 5-10... moreSony and Motorola used to be the STB champs back in 2013, remember Moto X and Xperia ZL (75% STB!!!), now they went backwards and are releasing phones with bigger bezels!
techlover1, 06 May 2017Haha yeah you're right. But don't forget Sony's models as well, those are the king (Sony) and ... moreAt Sony's slow snail pace they'll have a drastically reduced bezel smartphone in the next 5-10 years haha at least Moto will come to their senses much more earlier than them.
Why the hell did Lenovo downgrade the battery? Calling the phone Moto Play seems a bit ridiculous now.
LLL, 08 May 2017Such pricing is hideous... I wonder how much the Moto Z costs thenActually the Moto Z is only around R$200 more expensive, with twice the storage and comes with a power bank Moto Mod, very dumb pricing for these devices.

Motorola is obsolete here. Not surprised. Each brand has their own markets now, even Blackberry is still very big in Indonesia.

xxt, 07 May 2017Here in Brazil the Z Play costs the same as a Galaxy S7, not worth the money.Such pricing is hideous...
I wonder how much the Moto Z costs then
I would rather get the Z Play with stock Android and bigger battery than smaller battery and ZUI rom.
Nobody buys Motorola anymore. It's only Apple or Samsung, and a little Huawei and Sony.
Motorola has lost it ever since the demise of Razr.
Aloof, 07 May 2017lol, in my country it still sells for 450 USD after almost 6 months now. Here in Brazil the Z Play costs the same as a Galaxy S7, not worth the money.
I don't know why most phone maker so obsessed with making phone slimmer and sacrifice the most important thing, battery.
I don't need 5mm or less phone with small battery. 8mm phone still ok for me.
this was a good alternative because it had a long battery life... now, not anymore
Gary5, 06 May 2017I second that. Bigger battery is one of the most important thing a smartphone must have. Sadly... moreYou are so right! If someone can come out with a S7 or LG G5 spec's with a battery of 5000mAH then that will be a BIG seller, Imagine you can use the phone for the whole day without having to worry about charging or bringing a heavy brick (Power Bank) around.
A expensive smart phone without power is a 'DEAD' phone.....
Now, that sucks.....
Why, Moto? Why?
The original Z Play is better IMO because of its stellar battery life, and its camera is actually quite good.
I guess when Z2 Play does launch, I can just buy Z Play with big discount...
Anonymous, 06 May 2017Actually, some still prefer phones with removable battery, even they just have average battery... moreYes but at least you can have multiple removable batteries to get through a day if they are removable and of course you have the option to purchase bigger ones too.

Of course, it is better to have removable battery and good battery life.
It is better to have a little bit heavier phone with bigger battery, than to have a phone which is slimmer, but it has a smaller battery.
The one thing that just about everyone agrees on is that smart phones need better battery enudrance. So I know what, we will keep making the batteries smaller and smaller and if we are really lucky with bigger screens too. That makes good logical sense! Best of all since more and more smart phones now come with non-removable batteries we will not even have the option of buying extra batteries either. Never mind though, it looks nice. That's such a consolation when it powers off prematurely. You really couldn't make this stuff up!
