If u think 2010 was any good, or 2011 then u most certainly have no idea what the future will bring - technology moves in steps, it accelarates a few years then decellarates the other. 2010 was probably just beginning of that accelaration, as companies suddenly "ah, what r we waiting for then?' it never really brought anything new to the market smartphone-wise but lots new mobile cpus became available, high def mobile screens, etc, etc.. anyway if u think galaxy s2 is top end smartphone, then u dead wrong. Sure it uses dual-core cpu, but android 2.3 doesn't (u actually need 3.1 for smartphones to have each program disntinguish the cores, and shut them off when needed, for tablets it's alredy available in 3.0), in a similar way quad-core gpu is no good either and alone mali400 is weaker than powerVR 540 by almost twice, drivers also arn't ready but DON't go saying that by the time phone is, galasy would be faster than any other. Sure quad-core mali will beat Tegra 2 (it's over 2 years since that thing originated, and a year available for the market), but so is LG optimus 3D as a prototype and did better (ps. evo 3d scoring highest benchmarks, is an indication that for now dual-core or cortex a9 doesn't matter, but clock speeds do, ofcourse that will change in near future)
Prototype phones r a good indication of what the phone will be like!!
Samsung has huge potential since they r leaders in many mobile components, but they seriusly blew themselves in the foot this time...
things like no 3d, and same plastic design is a big issue, since (i can't beleiev i say this) but even expensive apple finally starts to separate themselves from competition with more durable designs for the money (liquid metal in iPhone 5 design) and powervr sgx 543 (also in NGP) is much better than mali400.
point is this phone unlike even galaxy s has absolutely NO strengths in ANY category!...
as for that technology accelaration, wait till u see quad-core phones next year (trust me they r in development already) with android and third-party apps developed for it as it matures, before deciding that this year is best it can get - will save lots of outcries..

In regards to you saying that you can buy 2 high end nokias for the price of 1 SGS 2, i can say this - the n96, n97 and n900 were expensive handsets when they were released - i know this because i've owned them all, and reliability was a very big issue. Nowadays i'd be more concerned about if the high end nokia i'm buying is going to be any good. My SGS 1 was money well spent

Hahaha, many Android phones to choose... moreare you talking about the same c6-01 that runs an OS which is in its deathbed, has the trademark nokia ugly UI which is probably based on some stoneage world and takes a dozen taps to get a simple work done, with a browser that makes you pull your hair out, an 8 mp camera which is *fixed focus* !!(wtf was nokia thinking?) and takes oversharpened images, and HD videos that are grainy, which you would be lucky to view because you might have a purple, green, red, orange, blue, yellow or grey tint in your display or dozen other manufacturing defects which your phone may have ?

LOL Nokia v Samsung LOL, I have the Samsung Omnia HD which combines the best of both world, Symbian s60v5, Samsungs version of Nokia firmware (ok using HX V11 custom rom version) which allows for CPU overclock from standard 600MHz to 900MHz (can go to 950MHz but makes it unstable), together with a nice 3.7" AMOLED screen, meh by Samsung Wave craps on it like a seagull craps on nude sunbathers at the beach.
seriously the Nokia flagship, the N8 is basically a carbon copy version of the Samsung Omnia HD al be it with a better camera, USB on the Go and HDMI port and S^3 but the Omnia HD in speed testing craps all over it and to boot Nokia released it in May 2009 while Nokia release the N8 in October 2011 ... go figure that one Nokia lovers, by the way, love Ovi Maps on my Omnia HD :)
As for the SGS2, cant wait for, even more so now that it has extra CPU power.
That said, as i saod above I have the Samsung Wave and seriously for the price you can forget about any mid range Android beating it, only in Apps, hardware wise and OS wise Bada and the wave's firepower kicks some serious asssss

i have samsung galaxy s for almost one year and i'm really satisfied with its performance, never have a problem with it. its fast and the battery life is great. the only thing i want is a bigger screen, like 4.5" or 5" but galaxy s2 with 4.3" is acceptable. cant wait to have this beast machine.... long live samsung...

[deleted post]its funny how you blame samsung for nokia's problem. nokia in a bid to save some money, purchased only the screen from samsung without its drivers (in case of second batch of n8). but the display drivers by nokia caused inappropriate colour tuning, resulting in such purple, red or whatever coloured display. blind fanboys like you are always blind to facts and blame everyone else.
