My Exynos S8 beat this Oneplus score very easily by scoring 2038 in single core and 6732 in multicore. So it will beat Snapdragon S8 but never beat an Exynos variant, although everyone knows that Oneplus cheats while benchmarking according to a news report posted in Gsmarena itself.
AnonD-237389, 09 May 2017A person should be crazy to neglect beasts like xz premium and s8 but instead buy one plus No you r crazy to neglect the price to performance ratio of oneplus. It kicks ass of every other android manufacturer .
Why the hell this went from discussion about OnePlus' 5 performance to comparing phones to cars/singers/animals!?

Anonymous, 09 May 2017It cheats. It uses the same SD835 that every 2017 flagship is using. OnePlus merely let's its ... moreHater Spotted with Total BS.
I have a few point for you, The Trolled Buddy,
1. Benchmarks are for raw performance. Benchmarks are designed to extract the maximum.
2. Not throttling down is not cheating. If a product doesn't need to throttle down its performance, it is a result of better RnD. Its actually called better optimization.
3. Even if the a company overclocks the processor, (which could be a case with OP5), it is not cheating, because benchmarks is a number game and you just focus on numbers regardless of stability.
4. S835 is suposed to be marginally faster than S821. Don't expect a radical change. S801 was marginally faster than S800. S805 was marginally faster than S801. Let us not expect any radical change. Anyways, benchmarks are good for numbers only. Real life performance may differ. Let us not compare it with last year Exynos. And you are free not to buyit if you don't like it.
PS. I am not OnePlus fanboy. I speak what I feel.
Why is there so much hate for OnePlus? The company is trying to give customers the $800-$900+ experience in a device that costs $400-$500 ... and not just a cheap knock off but a decent full...sorry HIGH spec phone that can Rival the rest of the flag ships. I mean I love Samsung phones and would gladly put out money for the S8/S8+ (if I had it) but by the time S9/Note8 comes out, and people are looking at a $1000 price tag, at least the money I saved from buying the OnePlus 5 (savings around $300-$400) can gladly go towards that. The experience on the OnePlus Devices are also just as good.... at least there is no noticeable lag on it compared to some instances on the S8/S8+ .... So people give the company a break! Let's not be "Sheep" and flock to our brands and let's look at the bigger picture of what's going on and at least appreciate that OnePlus is giving us a cheaper and very satisfying alternative!
AnonD-664474, 09 May 2017These people are comparing OEMs to cars. How about today's singers? Apple - Justin Bieber ... moreSorry, should've been Zayn Malik for Sony as he got the greatest voice of all time for a male, but barely makes any effort to be a superstar, primarily because it's not a priority at all
These people are comparing OEMs to cars.
How about today's singers?
Apple - Justin Bieber (most loved and most hated, and while has great talent, has pretty bad attitude and always relies on others)
Samsung - Ed Sheeran (very popular for incredible talent of singing and song composition, probably the best one, but not everyone's favorite)
LG - Shawn Mendes (a beginner who has great potential of being a great singer, but can sometimes be lazy to shine)
Nokia - Bruno Mars (everyone's favorite, but after some time being away from industry, lost people's mind, but is starting to comeback)
Huawei / Oppo - James Arthur (rising from the West, with such awesome contents)
Sony - Justin Bieber (once the most favorite, and was also once the most hatred singers, now starting to give a good fight)
A person should be crazy to neglect beasts like xz premium and s8 but instead buy one plus
Alien , 09 May 2017Sony is Mercedes-Benz. Maybe in your dreams it's Toyota.
By the way, BMW is for bling blingers.Sony looks like it was manufactured 10 years ago ... look at those bezels, they're so painfully ugly, my eyes hurt every time I see a Sony phone with the giant profile yet tiny battery (despite the bigger volume than phones of their screen size they always -somehow- manage to only fit small batteries)
Maybe even Toyota is a bit much to describe Sony. Zastava or Lada (espec their old designs) is closer to the spirit of Sony...

Sony = leopard

Samsung = Turtle
Oneplus = Fox
Understand ? Hahaha..
Anonymous, 09 May 2017How does one cheat benchmark tools like antutu
? I would have thought that they conduct tests... moreHeavy tasks make phones work hard. Temperature increases and the phones stop working that hard to prevent overheating.
Some brands change software, then no matter how close the phone is to its limit, it keeps pushing... OnePlus was found to be one.
Look the top 10 antutu, except iphone all the rest are chinese phones.
They modify android much more, because they do not have a UI but a system based on android. Like those roms for old phones that are no longer updated...
These heavy modifications are why they use 4 or 6gb ram even for midranges..

Yeah, just like HTC once. In a special high efficiency software mode. No tests, no news, just rumors.
AnonD-3124, 09 May 2017Still, i wont trade that AMAZING SCREEN AND EXPERIENCE that you get on an s8/s8+ with that SMA... moreOp5's screen will be a 2k amoled variant so you're not downgrading that much screen wise(as most apps don't fit well on s8's display) and the software experience is allways debatable and easily influenced by someone's opinion. With that in mind think about the fact that the op5 will deffinitely be at least 2 or 3 hundred dollars cheaper.
