I was hoping Samsung would bundle a Gear VR with the UK GalaxyS8 launch, got a years free insurance instead (nice). Augmented/mixed reality sounds interesting.

AnonD-621510, 11 May 2017Read the entire article first before commenting just by reading the title, duh. Just because someone comments what the title says doesn't mean they didn't read.
And just because the title conflicts or contradicts the article doesn't make it the fault of others

Anonymous, 10 May 2017VR is harmful to eyes leads to blindnessMedically speaking ... No
Usefully speaking .... YES!

Samsung VR is one of the worst experiences I ever had. Low hardware meant no good games. Terrible subpixel arrangement means one of the worst viewing results in the history of VR, w probably the worst screen door effect ever, ands subpixels as big as my eyes... Melting the battery like it is butter.

I know that less than a million with most of them given for free is a pathetic number. But I'm actually impressed that it even got that big . It smells gimmick from a million miles away ... But Samsung still managed people to part with their hard earned cash ... How pathetic.

asdffbdgsnjsfj, 10 May 2017You read the title but you didn't read the article dude. Well, the title is completely wrong isnt it, it says sold in q1 2017., yet first line does not compute as it says that same number sold in 2016.

Hate it or love it but people can't ignore Samsung who brings the best smartphone experience to consumers while other brands are just not doing anything new or wait they are considering removal of headphone jack an innovative move of courage.

Puting simple VR googles and standalone VR headsets in same analysis is quite ridiculous.
There is a dimensional shift difference between the two, in VR quality and price included.

VR is probably the most exciting emerging technology in consumer electronics. I was skeptical until I got my headset with a phone. Saying I was impressed would be a huge understatement. I was mind blown and ended up almost splurging on an Oculus Rift. Then decided to wait for refreshed generations and some price drops, but that wait it so painful.
