It's just a difference in the way GlobalFoundries/Samsung measures transistors versus TSMC. The resulting chips density and power efficiency is within the same generation.

And, if you read the review of the Sony Xperia XA1 (which sport a Helio P20 and a 2300mAh battery), you will know Helio P20 is more than reasonably efficient. Not as efficient as SD625 or 7880, but it's much better than P10.

Wow. As the name should be J7 Max, it should have a better processor than J7 Prime with their own Exynos and now what? MEDIATEK? The clock speed is the same as J7 Prime Exynos 1.6ghz. Plus Mediatek perform slower even with those clock speeds. What is Samsung thinking? They should put a P20 or P25 inside which performs much better!
