For Windows 10 Mobile users, this is actually the best news ever because now these features are available for the users, Evan Spiegel shunned just for his mere dislike of Microsoft.
It's a dog eat dog world and at least Mark did extend an arm before putting his foot down.

Those face filters exists in webcam softwares s... moreIf you use that logic, then why didn't Instagram include that feature when it was first released or sometime before Snapchat was even formed? It's been here since 2001 right? The point is, it doesn't matter who made it first, Snapchat was the one who popularised it, and BECAUSE it is now popular, Instagram feels compelled to make sure they have the latest and greatest on their own platform as well. Yeah, its a good business strategy, but you can't deny that it is very sloppy on Instagram's part to just outright copy popular Snapchat features (Don't forget about Instagram and Snapchat Stories).
I personally agree with the author that it is a disgusting strategy for Instagram to just try to shutdown Snapchat so severely even when Snapchat is just starting to gain traction in the social media business, which to be frank is still dominated by Facebook anyway.
Also, talking about ripoffs, tell me, where else have you found a social media that is anywhere near like Snapchat when it first came out? No chats, no filters, JUST Snapchat Stories and its normal 10 Second snap messages. Sure, A total ripoff indeed

Even Egg does way better filters than snapchat. W32 software has done it for ages. Silly to call something a rip off. Should no other company but the first be allowed to have a phone to sell?

I like Instagram for what it is, a quality image and after all life sharing place without the shared shit from Facebook...I never liked the one day posts of Snapchat and certainly won't use this clones either (but the face filters are cool, for normal Instagram posts).
