Believe me, IPS panels are also very good. The main problem with most of Amoled panels is that they tend to oversaturate the colours and so lose their colour accuracy.

I will wait and see if they make a smaller mi max before i get the S8+ though! Mimax 2 is the only contender left.
Xiaomo needs to start using oled screens for the flagships,like oneplus and huawei or at least smth closer to HTC's. Yet they really need to improve those bezels, at least to 75%

When releasing a phone, especially flagship ones, time GAP is the most IMPORTANT elements to consider to make sure u can get the OPTIMAL result in sales.
When releasing A flagship smartphone, a Brand Vendor will monitor buyers' opinions as well as experts' comments on pros & cons of their phone. By doing this, they can get input for what they should do & don't when making the next successor.
There is another reason for having time gap between the recent & the next flagship, that is to make the recent one MOSTLY sold first, so the vendor can know whether the recent one is well-received by consumer & experts or they should change or redesign the next flagship to keep the potential buyers as well as loyal customers using their products.
This is especially true for Chinese brand, especially Xiaomi.
Although they ALMOST introduced new phone almost every 2 months, but they only released their flagsip twice or thrice a year, with the new ones mostly differs only in display size & battery capacity, sometimes with bigger RAM & ROM too, like in Mi 5 series.
In short, IF what u want is BIGGER Mi6, u'll have to wait for Mi6s to release first, which might comes with the same screen size but slighly "better" feature, which means u'll have to wait until Q4 2017 - Q1 2018, as "plus"version of Mi series is made as a "stop--gap" measure before the next flagship released. Which means, "plus" version of Mi series is Xiaomi's way of keeping potential buyers & fans to keep using their brand IF what they want, the new flagship hasn't released yet/ available only in limited stocks & places.

cucuk, 19 May 2017miui 8.x has battery drain issues -> (consumes a lot of battery even when left overnight) t... moreif you want a good phone that performs that battery saving or draining should not come into your mind. I always have a backup charger and always use my phone in performance mode

Change always seems good at first. I remember theme store experience with MIUI. Applied some theme, icons, wallpapers, notification shade seemed fine unless I had a look on lockscreen which started showing date & day in Chinese language unless I reverted back to the default theme. #_#
