Actually 5.2 inch display is the perfect size to me. Waiting the 6 inch screen with Zero bezel but the top durable material should use as a premise to ensure the phone is strong enough and dare to drop.
Quote from last year's poll that found lots of interest in sub-5" but ~5.2 the overall winner:
Going through the comments, there were a lot of vocal supporters for 4.5" to 5" phones, ones like the iPhone 6s and Xperia Z5 Compact. But an even smaller segment is enjoying something of a rebirth with Apple's launch of the 4" iPhone SE. Can we see votes swing away from 5.4"-5.7" segment and towards the sub-5" one if we run this poll a few months from now?
And yet... discarded it entirely? Where is the logic in that?
sr777, 22 May 2017The poll is about what is the best screen size you like, nothing to do with the phones availab... moreExactly. How are manufacturers supposed to know there's an interest in small, powerful devices unless people are given the choice to express that interest?
Raphi7, 21 May 2017Well they explained that there are a small number of phones having sub-5 inch screens in 2017,... moreThe poll is about what is the best screen size you like, nothing to do with the phones available on the market and their prices, it's about what screen size you like.
Anonymous, 21 May 2017Some people equate screen size with the phone size. You can have a bigger display at 5.5" and ... moreThe width of the phone will be too much at that size. It's hard to hold and reach the opposite side and top of the phone when it's larger than 5.1. Even 5.1 is a struggle but you can tilt the phone a bit to reach it. Someone with giant hands may not have any issue.
Trooper, 21 May 2017Because it is biased towards larger screen phones, which is not what 'everyone' wants or needs... moreGSMA already said why they didn't consider sub-5" phones it's because they're mostly crappy cheap under-specced underused devices, you guys are in the minority just like people who like removable batteries.
Anonanoymoususes, 22 May 2017some people on gsm will made fun of people who prefer small screen , to void been bashing from... moreThe best selling phone in the world is 4.7inches.
The joke is on GSM and those people.
Dudecool, 22 May 2017Where is the 4 - 4.7inch option? Chose 5.2 because it was the closest thing to that option... moresome people on gsm will made fun of people who prefer small screen , to void been bashing from this kind of people , gsm not post about small screen ...
Where is the 4 - 4.7inch option?
Chose 5.2 because it was the closest thing to that option.
Gsm biased towards massive phones.
Im waiting on a phone with tiny bezels and a 16:9 screen at around 5'2-5'5 inch.
I think 4.7" is a good all around size utilitarian size, 4" is ok too. I also think there is more than screen getting cheaper as a reason OEMs are using larger displays. Its also cheaper for them to build bigger phones, then they can market them as premium. For now, I will stick with apple, they haven't totally abandoned the small phone lovers
My current 5.9" is the ideal size for me as it fits in my pockets very easily and feels easy to type with. Not as comfortable as external keyboards, but somewhat okay when I have to type something. Had a 6.0" and it was very nice too. :) Next phone I'm going for bigger than 6.0", definitely. Or whatever device is good in this size range for me to buy in about 2 years from now.
I don't have a preference. Whatever phone I am holding whether my iPhone SE (4"), Pixel (5"), G5 (5.3"), S7 edge (5.5"), or V20 (5.7") is the ideal size for me at that moment. The luxury of using them all doesn't make me have to choose what is the ideal size. It is whatever phone that is charged up and holding at the moment.
