"though splash proofing is nothing to sneeze at"
Actually splash-proofing should protect it from sneezes.
this phone is so good, i can almost get over the lack of 3.5mm jack, and I'm a " must have 3.5mm jack " type of person.

Do you think Europeans are ready to throw all their cash for better specs? then there wont be cheaper phone makers in Europe and there wont be costly phone makers in Asia

What is so critical that makes the phone useless without it..? I can't even --remember-- the last time I bought a pair of wired headphones.
From design perspective it is a mixture between Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone, so not, I will pass and on top of that in the year when Samsung and Apple are supposed to ditch the physical buttons on the front to release a phone with such is a shame!
Pia, 21 May 2017No he's not...he from india and india people always want a phone that have flagship hardware w... moreThen why s7, s7 edge, iphone 7, iphone 7 plus, s8, s8+ are sold in indian market?
Infact after US, India is the biggest market for flagship branded phones.....
Update your knowledge, then only point a whole country!
I have a Mi5 and I don't think the Mi6 is "hot". While I appreciate the improved build quality -the stale design, lack of headphone jack, lack of gorilla glass, and no AMOLED just makes this "meh". Don't get me wrong, if it was my time to upgrade it would be between this and One Plus, I just don't think it stands out.
AnonD-442781, 21 May 2017No, of course not. No headphone jack, no buy!You do have a point. Despite offering excellent specs in almost everything, the Xiaomi Mi 6 lacks the all-important 3.5 mm headphone jack. And that's a huge deal-breaker.
AnonD-671078, 21 May 2017No Lte 800, not worldwide available, screen smaller than 5.5, big bezels, old fashioned style ... moreThey will do better. This one is china only. They will probably make the plus variant global. And hopefully refine it a bit further (I'd love to see the main camera sensor be an IMX378 with an f/1.7 aperture).
Extremely hot. SD835, dual camera, really good build quality,. Good screen and good battery.
AnonD-442781, 21 May 2017No, of course not. No headphone jack, no buy!what do you prefer?
- phone with same specs and headphone jack for double the price
- no headphone jack, adapter available for less than $ 5
Issue that I feel is the Bands limitation. Rest all can be taken care off, However bands of LTE are not there for many countries. A global edition is what this needs both in OS level and Band Level
Everything hot except the design - same boring soap-bar /iPhone copy that we see ---everywhere-- else. And honestly once you get into flagships, everything except the design is '6 of one, half-dozen of the other' and the design actually makes about 60% of the difference. So - not hot, on balance.
Miui is just plain bonkers. No more xiaomi devices for me.
Nay, where is my microSD slot, and 3.5mm jack?
NOT!!!!
i i would live in China...then it would only missing audio jack for a price...but since i am in EU, it cost too much with VAT and it comes without warranty...
no tnx.
One+, Honor, ZTE and Lenovo/Moto has better offers for same budget (in EU)
No Lte 800, not worldwide available, screen smaller than 5.5, big bezels, old fashioned style with middle button, is a no go for me.
Come on Xiaomi. You can do better.
Hot spec wise. However it doesn't support enough bands so no LTE 3CA here. I doubt it'll support my NFC SIM (they didn't last year). Not to mention other deficiencies (low res screen, camera/lens, USB 2.0..., no microSD, Chinese spywares AKA Baidu, etc). In about 6-8 month, flagships from Samsung/LG/HTC/Sony will drop in price to about the same as a Xiaomi flagship here. You'd have to ask yourself in that situation: is it really worth it to get a less capable phone few month earlier? I caught and released a 1+ 3t for the reasons above. It was fast, but didn't fit my needs.
