I love Sony as a brand, and their flagship smartphones tick all the boxes. Stereo front speakers, waterproof, good cameras (although they can improve the postprocess), good screens, good design. I wish them luck, I'm a happy XZ user.

Sony service center was crap in Indonesia. So people who have money would buy iPhone or Samsung flagship, cause they have the best service center here. Midrange phone was crowded with Xiaomi, Oppo, and Samsung. People with low budget will go to black market phone with cheap price, or xiaomi. Even their mid range phone was cost very high here.

According your complain to the Xperia Z2's flaps, I didn't find any problem with that flaps, I have use the USB for charging and data transfer, but most of the time I will keep the flap close tight and it is still water-resistant.

They are currently in a mess. The mess already starts with naming and product segmentation, they are confusing and plenty. Samsung shares the same problem but not as bad. Sony is not as big as Samsung anymore in terms of electronics. They have to be a true technology company.

Did not buy, but almost got the compact. Beautiful thing. Looking at that image of models. To many x for everything. Some consumers would get lost. Last line up looked stunning actually. Go figure.

It automatically shut down camera video recording, when it start to get hot. I haven't seen that kind of thing in any other brand flagship devices. It looks ridiculous. It has got 20+ megapixel camera, but night time picture quality is like 3 megapixel camera. So those are the common reasons why sony cannot compete even with Chinese brand

But many who vouch for Sony's superior optimization, often failed to understand that all these optimization are only limited to day to day tasks.
Just load up a Asphalt 8, Modern combat 5, GTA:SA or WWE Immortals then you'll see that measly 2300 mAh draining in 1.5hr at best. Even phones like XZ Premium with 3200 mAh won't last more than 1.5hr - 2hr just like XA series.
Every Sony phone I see now a days gets battery based on SOT or something like that. Even if Sony can put more battery into the phone, they won't just because they achieved their SOT. Example is Xperia XA1 ultra, which only got 2700mAh battery for a 6 inch phone.

Sony is so lost nowadays.
The only phone I suggest people avoid buying is Sony.
Why on earth Sony keeps making phones with puny small batteries and with only 68% screen to body ratio and yet still wanna charge consumers with exorbitant prices.
I have Sony Z2 and within 3 months, their flaps have damaged rendering water proofing useless.

X Compact didn't sell not because it is 500 dollars, but because it is 500 dollars with midrange CPU and specs worse than predecessors. Sony is out of touch with reality.
