I never bought anything but iPhones and now I'm really happy with my phone it's one of the best feelings in the world it's 128gb so I don't really need sd card don't know what are you talking about and the only little thing that bothers me is the headphone jack when I need to listen to something and charge my phone at the same time but I think if I buy Bluetooth headphones it's not a problem.
I will never regret moving to xiaomi

Buggy software: well it depends, I am using the redmi 3 for about an year, yes its performance is not spectacular, but not bad either.

Trollhammeren, 28 May 2017Well , i had several Mi phones , including the Mi5 but i have to say they are no where near as... moreyour username really speaks volumes about you. here I am using mi5 I agree camera is ok at best but once you move to beta rom in MIUI you won't get anything better than it. except maybe stockish flavoured if that's your liking. mi5s didn't completely rectify cameras but it's better than mi5 afaik but they removed ois a move I despise and reason I didn't buy that. if mi5 is pretty solid I don't have doubt about mi5s

The lack of headphone jack issue was just an overblown issue by select tech bloggers so they have something to rant about continuously in the near future. And like sheep, some people follow that mentality just to join the rant bandwagon.
In reality, regular people don't care too much. Most people simply use whatever included in the box, and so far most companies include either a USB-C earbud, or an adapter, or both. So lack of headphone jack isn't really a big deal.

I stopped using wired headphones last year and haven't missed them at all. The people whining over a headphone jack are either old or they don't workout. The iPhone comes with an adapter just like the Mi 6 so wired headphones can still be used.

Besides, there's lots of high quality Bluetooth Headset out in the market right now. I don't know about you, but I can afford to buy wireless Marshall and B&O Headphones ( actually bought those two) and I'm from your so called poor country! Maybe you're from a rich country but can only afford a wired earphones that is why you still want a 3.5mm jack! What a pity!

Mi6 is awesome, specially so because of the price and also, for the guts to ch... moreAgree with the display, I clearly see no need for over 1080p in 5.15" device (if it's 5.5" the story COULD be different). Can't wait to test the audio as even the "really bad when headphones attached" one like Mi 5 is actually good after selecting the correct headphones type in audio settings. Last but not least, I really hope the product manager doesn't give false hope when he promised the improved camera software in MIUI 9.

I've voted hot. Mi6 is awesome, specially so because of the price and also, for the guts to choose 1080p display instead of falling for the display pixel race like Sony.
Now, the review is out and I like the loudspeaker, audio quality and camera too, of this phone.
However, I feel they should've let the 3.5mm jack stay, and work on more slow motion video modes... like 240fps, 480fps and all.
And SD slot, like Samsung flagships could've been great too.

So it proves nobody cares about the headphone jack as long as it is really cheap since most commenters here live in poor countries. Just a get a Xiaomi Mi 5. Still has the jack, far cheaper, and looks better.
My Xiaomi Mi 3 from three years ago is actually one of my favorite phones ever but it lacks microSD slot and needs Mi Suite (like iTunes) for media managing. It cannot be recognized on my MacBook similar to my Pixel. MIUI is far better than any Samsung skin though. Still quite smooth.
I just couldn't go back to Xiaomi because of that Mi Suite. My next smartphone will be a Sony. Even Huawei needs one of those PC programs to install. While a Sony Xperia would work well with my PS4 slim. I trust Sony more than the Chinese although Sony can also be overrated by some of their fanboys.
My PS Vita is my most used gadget right now and it is ancient and second hand. It kills boredom when I wait for my DoorDash orders. Having a $130 64gb memory card filled with 34 games helps. Sony really is about UNDERRATED QUALITY. But they are overpriced as well.

Xiaomi is world class! I'm using redmi note 4 and it's right now the best and cheapest phone you can get on this price range! And mi6 is my next Target now. 😇
