this is stupid Sammy says that backup yr data and they dont provide eny tools for it. Even Nokia givs them, but its not rekomended so says the service guys.

I bought my Galaxy S from T-Mobile Macedonia on 13th of January. It has 2.1 Update1 since the first day i got it. I've been checking for available update ever since. I got nothing till now. The world is getting GINGERBREAD 2.3.3 and im stuck at 2.1 Update 1... Samsung... WAKE UPPPPPPPPP...like it or not...even though i love this phone.. chances are I will look for something else next time...something that is UP TO DATE...

my phone is ap model from t-mobile, samsung. firmware is 2.2 [froyo]. can i get an update to 2.3 [gingerbread]?

Galaxy S fan, 18 Apr 2011When is the gingerbread going to be available in South Africa?shouldnt be much longer. Our gsm networks are the same, so once the europeans get it, we're next in line. But if you're feeling brave, get the leaked version online and do the update yourself. Not like samsung sa's warranties are worth more than the paper they are written on.

Still waiting for it here in NZ - But i'm sure we will get it last.... We always do! :P - Really can't be bothered losing all my data. Don't really understand or trust Titianum Backup.

update has been pulled from kies.
but for you network branded lot, simply download spoofFW from android market.
make sure you have the 3 button download thing working first!

My Kies software version: 2.0.0.11032_12
BUT, there's no update for me.
Help me pls.

Top tip never buy an android phone thats network branded.Anything on orange o2 and vodafone or tmobile has to be network approved so you updates could be as late as 3months.Bu from carphone warehouse all stock is unbranded and unlocked

the b... moreDownload Astro File Manager (Free)from the Market.
When loaded, press menu button (bottom left key). Select Tools, then Application Manager/backup. Tick all the Apps you want to backup onto your SD Card and press Backup button. After updating, download Astro again. Then do the same as above, but this time select Backed Up Apps and tick the ones to reinstall. Astro will ask you if you want to install them one at a time.
Simple !

the backup on kies save only contacts,videos,music and pictures so its crap. they are all on my sim or external sd. so how can i make an packup on my apps and others???

To everybody have already done the official kies update to gingerbread, here a question, I notice improvement in speed and internet surfing but, for now, what look wrong is google maps, I mean everything seems working but the "new" 2 finger rotation that was working well with froyo 2.2.1 now it doesn't work on my device :-( can anybody confirm that is really working in gingerbread? Thanx to galaxy comunity..... I also tried to reinstall the google maps but same problem :-(
