I love V20 with its Quad DAC, but seeing this reminds me of G5 with its "modular" flop.

I think the only company that can make money out of such gimmick is apple. I guess 3 4 yrs down the line when we will forget about this apple will pick it up from dust and make billions

I think this is the great innovation, LG always does. Looks to be great. But finally what LG should looks is to gain the flagship market, which is currently in apple and Samsung hands).
70% of the people never uses phone to its high-end features. They look for unique looks and top performance.
I think LG is fighting in flagship with G series (currently G6). And trying out unique things with V series. ( V 20 has audio amplifier chip.. etc)
What LG needs at this moment is Branding and Marketing. They are good in technology and their product innovation. And they have already good name in home appliances, they can leverage that advantage.
Also concentrate more in china for quantity of sales. India for entering the emerging market, Europe for its android fans.
All the best LG.

I just remember old Nokia & Samsung phones when I see this design (I call this prototype Grave Digger; Sorry).
Winning formula is simple;
-Proper screen to compete against best of Samsung (OLED)
-Top of the shelf processor & GPU (SD835 currently)
-Good battery life (80-90hours endurance from Gsmarena)
-High quality camera which wins over iPhone
-Good audio quality
-IP68
-Swappable battery like V20 with water resistance was possible in S5. Why not anymore?
LG PCB design is already the best. Checking out iFixit reviews it shows that it is already years beyond anyone. But no more bootlock problems, please!

If this is the V30 I probably won't be getting it. Sliders have always been prone to defects because the mechanism becomes a weak spot. It'll only cause lots of problems for LG and it's users in the long run. On top of that, availability has always been an issue with the V series so I won't be surprised if it never even reaches Europe. A V10 and G Pro 2 (import) user...

I don't understand the practicality of it unless they put a lot of features and thought into the second screen, otherwise it might just be a Blackberry Priv.

If it had a slide out physical gamepad I would buy one instantly.

Anonymous, 27 May 2017 It also occurred to me, Two Cameras, and Down Led Lightning and Laser Autofocus.Probably a tripple camera setup. since the dual camera is becoming common now. G6 has also droped laser auto foucos in favor of phase detection. My guess is :
1. wide angel
2. portrait
3. telephoto
4. flash

I think they should completely remove this secondary screen as it isn't needed anymore when we have full screen front. And then make the lower display completely disappear when it is closed, so that you can still have a normal phone with normal 16:9. So a Blackberry Priv without the speaker at the bottom, but display all the way down.

OdysseyTag, 27 May 2017The top two are and the bottom two are probably a flash and a sensor, not cameras. It also occurred to me, Two Cameras, and Down Led Lightning and Laser Autofocus.

Hmmm, I think this concept will not attract many people, not the way it is designed now anyway. If the screen slides in landscape instead of portrait, it can be very beneficial for typing too.
