It just seemed to me that a 2Ghz cpu in a tablet would make a little more sense than in a tablet (I think I may have contradicted my first statement there too)
:)
What will 2GHz dual core proccessor will do to mobile market in 2012?

It's an artificial need only created to fill Apple's pockets. Nothing more to it than simple waste of resources. And your money, of course.
why are people just thinking smartphones here? 2ghz in a smartphone may seem silly, but what about in a tablet?
and, it wasnt that long ago that it seemed crazy to have a 1ghz cpu in a phone either
i think that will be useless for today
But tomorrow it is different
When u capable of doing your laptop tasks on your phone THAT WOULD BY SATISFACTION

While the 2GHz dual-core might not be optimized and practical yet, it's a great progress nonetheless. It's those who continue to progress wins in the end not the ones who say "it's good enough". I see Samsung as the company that is experimenting the most and trying hardest out of any other companies in competition.
just don t forget the instructions per cycle... remember intel pentium 4 in 2005? more GHz doesn t always mean more performance
i thinck the need to SLOW DOWN because it was about a year ago they released the worlds first 1ghz smart phone now the phone is absolite. they release about 10 smart phones a year and that makes them not worth as much they need to be like blackberry and apple. blackberry releases about 2-3 phones a year. and apple only realeses one a year that is why the iphone 3 is still popular and it was released in 2008 and the bold 9700 was released in 2009 and it is still not off the market once again samsung SLOW DOWN your company is turning into our economy. they print more money so now it is worth less.
How about a new battery !? when i turn on my phone i will hurry up to text a message before i run out of 50% battery life, this is not a bright future.
The only thing Samsung are interested are washing people's minds with numbers, getting more and more new models every year (I wonder how much hundreds of models they'll launch this year) and manufacturing them low quality enough so after max 1 year they're out of service. Not really much different than notorious chinese fakers.
[deleted post]who is asking you to buy this phone? Or how many of us bought the first smartphone? I agree to the fact that bigger isn't always better but not here, when it comes to smartphones or even futurephones its all about speed, higher the better!!! There are many people out there to make this a success and open the path for further innovations.. Talking about price, what was the price of first 1ghz phone?
Open up your mind..whatever your name is..
Wauw! Sounds awesome. My main concern is the battery running a fast cpu like this. Android phones on the market today, are very powerhungry and discharge the battery in 7-10hrs(with above average usage). Main powerdrainer is of course the screen, that's why they should be researching more in that area.
Get ready for samsung phones that comes with 10 batteries included in the package, should be sufficient to be swapped again and again for a single day's use. Fandroids, happy?
How about optimizing the OS to run smooth at low processor powers, but maintain the processor high enough at 1.2 GHz duo core?

I wish my N8 comes with a 1GHz processor. An extra oomph in power won't hurt and will speed up my web browsing and enable full Flash. That's the weakness of my N8.

Symbian on the other hand... should get a CPU upgrade to at least 1GHz too. At least 1GHz.. that's just my opinion.
Can't wait till when the web browsing speeds on mobile devices are almost in-line with that of a PC! Almost there it seems.
its imagine not true
AnonD-2461, 18 Apr 2011Do we really need 2Ghz Cpu...?Smartphone will be the same as laptop but in smaller size...Hmmm... moreI agree. There's really not point in this, but that's future. For Nokia, 680mHz processor is enough. But when future comes, it comes, did we say anything we want.
I thought that Qualcomm was coming in with 1,5Ghz Quad Cores this year...
