My only qualm against the previous commenter was that they would mark the ad as "slander", because sure it is misleading and vague but is it really "slander"?
Anyway, One small off topic comment on that last point though, my Dad was an avid Blackberry user and he finally decided to make the switch when Whatsapp announced its stopping support for Blackberry, I spent a full week figuring out how to transfer contacts from a Blackberry to an Android without the use of a computer and that was a complete nightmare. They only had an app that would help in the transfer from an Android TO a Blackberry and not vice versa. It's a total shame on Blackberry's part, so much emphasis on security but no regard to user experience. To be fair, Blackberry is invalid at this point, but just a funny thought that came up when I read your comment.
In reality Apple does not have to release ads to prove that using the IOS is better than android. But the very reason why I am using an S8 rather than the iphone is expandability . I cannot insert an sd card to expand my memory for my pictures . I shoot a lot of pics using my mobile phone and no matter what the internal HD may be it will never be enough . I hope apple comes out with hardware that would allow expandability !!

He lost money and his cell phone too, you know how to solve it? Android has good security too .. every month can get update. What have you ever heard of the biggest android burglarized security cases in history? Is security the best feature of apple than others? only for security? hah
Qwerty2017, 30 May 2017Know what? There are MUCH MORE than Samsung who made US$200 Android phone, because, as u know,... moreok we can't

AnonD-422306, 01 Jun 2017I compel you to show me where and how Samsung still has ethics in mind, if you are talking abo... moreThe difference is that when Samsung or for that matter any android maker says they have something iPhone doesn't have - the iPhone actually doesn't have that. When Apple says that they have something Android doesn't have they usually lie or doesn't tell whole story:
1. Apple is smoother - that is vague. Yes some low end android devices are slower, but that is comparison between apples and oranges (... yes apples). There is no point comparing iphone for $700 with android for $99. In fact android for ~$200-300 mark will be as smooth as iphone. Additionally, both android and iphone will need to be backed up and restored to factory settings to restore smoothness and performance. The only real difference android gives you more freedom and it is easier to mess it up - that doesn't make apple inherently superior, just means stupid people might end-up with some mess.
2. Apple updates are available for longer so it is more secure.... BS.. again if you compare like for like most of high end Android devices for similar price will get firmware updates for up to 3 years (Nexus for longer) after which it is actually irrelevant, because 90% of people will upgrade by this time. But furthermore security updates are firmware independent and on official android versions (less Chinese ones) are available for very long time. So yes firmware update on apple runs for longer, but that is irrelevant. Security updates runs for both for long time ... so in terms of security - no that is lie apple is not more secure and does not get (specifically) security updates for longer.
3. It is easy to migrate contacts from Android to iOS... Yes, but that is irrelevant, because it is similarly easy to migrate them from iOS to Android... in fact from any phone to any phone nowadays...
AnonD-422306, 01 Jun 2017I agree, competition is what allows companies to innovate, and innovation is what keeps techno... moreAbsolutely, and well said. Where as I don't decry people holding to a favourite choice, I think it short sighted to stick blindly to that choice whilst dismissing the competition entirely.
Like I said, if your an Android fan then your really going to want Apple to knock it out of the park with iOS 11 on Monday, as nothing will push Google to improve Android more.
Qwerty2017, 30 May 2017"competition" in a capitalist countries means "ANY means necessary to increase our sales is al... moreI compel you to show me where and how Samsung still has ethics in mind, if you are talking about the ulterior message that each ad gives, then Samsung's ads are no better, their ad says that iPhone doesn't have some of the features that Samsung has, doesn't that "indirectly" imply: "Samsung is better than the iPhone". Sounds like "Samsung" superiority to me.
Now the point at hand, you keep bringing the word "slander" into the game, let me remind you, it's an ad. Rule number one about advertising: it's all propaganda, an ad is meant to be taken with a grain of salt. Do you actually think this made a HUGE impact on the "largest mobile OS market in the world"? NO, Android OS caters to a larger spectrum of consumers, high and low income, because their manufacturers produce a wider range of phones from low-range to flagship. Apple, they only cater to the high-income spectrum with their awfully priced phones. So, don't go complaining about how Apple is trying to make dents on a phone market that is totally beyond their reach (unless of course, they start churning out phones like Samsung does).
Also, Apple's supposed stance on saying that Android is laggy, can be based with some reason, why? because iOS is MADE for iPhones, their optimization is the best. Android with it's open source nature is not optimized for a single phone (except maybe the Pixel now that that has came out). This lack of optimization will always make Android one step behind than iPhones in terms of fluidity. That is what I think Apple is trying to say. No other phones on the market with a large market share to rival Androids and iPhones has the same exclusivity of iOS other than iPhones themselves, Windows 10? Symbian? BB10? Pfft they don't come close to Apple's minds, they of course go for Androids, but specifically, the high class flagship phone users, the mid range and low-range users can ease their mind as they assuredly can't afford an iPhone.

We get the better part of the deal to choose between which we think has the best feature for the next few years before the other catches up again and makes us rethink our choice again.
OpenSource, 30 May 2017For me the biggest problem is the Apple's policy on software and hardware. The immense amount ... moreDon't be gullible, son. Both companies are greedy giants, but in two different sectors. Alphabet's main work is "data". They give you android os for free, not because they love you, because they want your data. All of it. Where you go, to whom you talk, what you do. They are linked with NSA. They manipulate search results on their search engine to "manufacture the public opinion" about critical issues. If you are not paying for a product, then "you" are the product for the developers! There is nothing for free here.
ANDROIDISTERRIBLE, 30 May 2017How does it require iTunes. It hasn't required iTunes for years. How stupid are you These guys have never used iOS. Just niggling and complaining about a phone that they have never used.

Anonymous, 30 May 2017why would people switch to a dumb OS that depends on itunes for everything? How does it require iTunes. It hasn't required iTunes for years. How stupid are you
im not a fan of iOs or Android but if I will given a chance to have a mobile phone ill go for android phone. ask me why ??
- easy to use
- not complicated to use ( when it come to down loading music or movie on the internet )
- best price for the specs and quality
- every one can use
- having there own browser
- can transfer files using Bluetooth ( coz they don't have / need to download share it file )
- high price for cheap specs " so expensive "
- Battery is very easy to drain
base on what I have seen on my friend and work mates
so apple sorry but you cannot blame us who experience your phone I used apple 5s 16GB and shift to Samsung galaxy A5 2017

Its ok guys don't giv... moreAgreed,
All this bile over the simple fact that Apple is advertising what it sees as its products advantages over the competition. Fancy that eh, a tech company trying to convince consumers to choose its offerings........
All the fanboy nonsense I'm seeing below makes me glad that I like, and can just as easliy use either Android or iOS. Fanboys of either one had better hope that the competition is not as cr*p as you like to believe, as its that competition that largely drives the further development and improvement of your beloved platform.
Put it like this, we've now seen much of what Google have in store for us with Android O, so now I hope iOS 11 blows that out of the water next week, so Google can then do the same to Apple with Android P, also so on.......
But those fanboys hey, they like to think along much more simple lines.......
Crapple is scared of losing customers. Before they didn't need to "convince" people to switch. Fanboys & fangirls loved the iphoney because it was hip to do so. But Crapple has been stuck in reverse for years now. They are basically copying everyone else's designs lately. Nothing innovative from Big Fruity.
