AnonD-244086, 30 May 2017i7 extreme already existsThere are also thousands of versions of i7, which are differentiated with their model numbers. They could have done the same thing here (name it i7 extreme, with a different model number).

Arengium, 30 May 2017Is this true? I'm a engineering student and I wanna know more about thisFor engineering applications like CFD simulations which are highly threaded, ryzen offers insane value.
Some applications will be more optimised for intel, however support for ryzen will only grow as it is competitive and generating lots of sales.

Arengium, 30 May 2017Is this true? I'm a engineering student and I wanna know more about thisAMD is better in terms of balance because they have more cores than some "gaming" cpu like i7 7700k(8cores vs 4cores) When there is more cores, the processing of apps, multimedia is much at ease compared to a quad core. If u want to have good streaming stability AMD is better than Intel because the frames per second is almost consistent unlike Intel sometimes the frames are really high and sometimes it just drop to a frame rate that would tear the screen

                        Oh God... This is it.
They invested so much in their CPU department, only to be destroyed so easily.
Investors will not like this for sure. Prepare for AMD HEDT sales fail again.
                        R.I.P. AMD 1969-2017...
