I've just looked at the dimension and its just slightly wider than my iPhone 6S and a millimetre taller. For me, it looks perfect and it looks like it'll run stock android. With fast updates, this is going to seal my return to Android. I see no flaws in it. Expensive. Yes. Quality. Yes.

When I saw "ceramic back", I just had to start laughing.

Just what do some these designers/engineers think when they develop a phone with materials like that? Why not just make it out of tissue paper? Makes as much sense. Do they think it will live in a museum for everyone to gaze at? "Oh, what a nice ceramic finish". First thing a new owner is going to do is put this phone in a case.

And here I thought Samsung had the most brain-dead engineers.

Not keen. Far too expensive for the meagre spec .. particularly an LCD (instead of OLED) and small battery, at this price.

How many will choose this over a broadly similar LG G6 that's $200 cheaper ... or a vastly superior Samsung S8 which will soon near the $600 mark.

Also, like the new Nokias, this is rumoured to be totally locked down.

AnonD-102007, 30 May 2017This is what I want the Pixel 2 to be in every way. This ticks all my boxes apart from wireles... moreCompletely agreed. That titanium frame around the display is "fantastic" idea. Enough wide to not look weird like an S8. Excellent design overall. Just wish the camera is all good, then a definite great device. If that's a quality display then then there's no point of complaining it's not OLED! Seriously wish Pixel 2 looks like this. But I know that it'll remain with its semi glass and metal back.

Note 8, 30 May 2017It is shaming everyone in design! Unique, yet it is not walled garden, it looks familiar but r... moreWhat you find as unique? Except maybe the display?
The whole design is like iPhone 4/5 on steroids with fingerprint reader instead Apple logo. Not bad at all, but:
1. Display is LCD - not AMOLED;
2. fingerprint reader is on the back - uncomfortable place;
3. Small battery capacity for not so small footprint;
4. No headphone jack;
5. No any water proofing.

As a design - it is like a successor of legendary iPhone 4 design, but that 5 reasons are definitely deal breakers for me.
Cheers!

Not bad including the price but the display could have an OLED display. No buy for me.

The cut out for front camera is no better than LG V20 concept.

This is what I want the Pixel 2 to be in every way. This ticks all my boxes apart from wireless charging but the dock sounds good for that. Shame I properly won't be allowed to buy this as I live in the UK.

bchsss, 30 May 2017What's an ugly front camera? Why 19:10 aspect ratio? Why not 18:9 or 18.5:9 or 2.35:1?Why 19:10? Thats the same ratio as a for example... a MacBook Pro?

Thats AWESOME the current LG G6 ratio just looks weird when not being used for video

I don't like this odd design at all. It just looks uneven and unbalanced.

AnonD-390711, 30 May 2017Price and size. I wish this could have been a compact 5.2 inch phone with a $500 price tag. Yeah, 5.2" with a normal aspect ratio, and $500. That is a phone with legs.
